Kalinga did not "conquer" Arawakans, they had a complex dynamic where Kalinago had a practice of taking wives from outside their culture. No evidence that Arawakans stole wives. Kalinago men took Arawakan wives, and so their children were merged.

People were not "replaced," they merged. There is no genetic evidence for replacement. The archaeologist does a poor job of explaining and still uses Colonizer lingo which is not appropriate. You should have an Indigenous researcher explain our history in terms that are appropriate. Also, you should say, "that we know of" because you only know a little. You have a lot of your understanding mixed up. There are several cultural influences that merged. Also, there was a complex dynamic with the later Kalinga culture. You don't explain the local development of Taino culture in Boriken and the zemi cult.

I remember when the barn and track was in town and the young guys would exercise the horses in the sea on the waterfront across from the parking lot. ❤🌴🐎

I called bullshit. These archeologists are there to whitewash “black”civilization always to make it seems primitive and barbaric.

1500 B.C the Ingneri and Carib people came from South America to the Caribbean. That red and white pottery is typical from the Igneri people, the large bowl was used to make Casava from the grated Yuca root. The Igneri were also good on making conoes. The frog seems to be Taino representing the COQUI frog. On one of the ceramic handles the form of the face looks like a Cemi from the Taino people. In theText Book Puerto Rico 500 years of History, it states that the Taino people showed "Conquistador" Juan Ponce De Leon "The Big Land" What is Now , the State of Florida. These different Tribe Nations have been traveling and settling up and down the whole American Continent and the Caribbean long before the Conquerors arrived to kill, enslave and destroy all these Tribe Nations History.

Gov. Mapp, my prayers are with you and the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and the BVI. God bless you all and I hope and pray for the easiest recovery and very minimal loss of life and property. Hugo and Marilyn are as fresh in our minds as yesterday, and although we have never seen a storm of this magnitude, we are a strong community and united we stand. From home and abroad; God bless the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean..
