Just purchased some Tusk Adventure Pro based on this review. Bent some Amazon cheapos twice and they were always close to my levers. It bent enough to make enough contact to drag the front brakes. More hand space + more durable = a buy once item.

Yeah, obviously it took me two pairs of cheapies too. Hope these work out for you as well as they have for me.

Because the Kawasaki KL X300 dual sport is way better awesome suspension right out of the box just put a windshield on it and you got an incredible rally motorcycle lightweight adventure bike

It should be fine. It’s rated for 1100 lbs, and I don’t know of any motorcycles that weigh that much.

I just installed mine. How do you adjust the left fork? The adjuster won't turn in either direction. When I turn it any harder counter clockwise, the fork cap comes undone. Turning it clockwise and it just tightens the fork cap.

Anyone looking at bikes on Craigslist will see MANY bikes for sale with low mileage and the owner monkeyed around with the exhaust. None of these clowns ever tested their mods on the dyno. They have no idea if the mod improved performance. They swear it did because of the sound. 😂 Such hubris to buy a new bike and immediately realize that they know better than the people who engineered the machine. 😂 I’ll NEVER buy a used bike that someone monkeyed with. Even it does increase the power, you have no idea how much it shortens the life of the motor.

It’s just ridiculous this bike doesn’t come with adequate suspension.

Everybike serves a purpose. The Rally sits well for a light user friendly commuter with the readiness for light off road adventure. Reliable bike, no issues, no fuss, pump petrol & go!!! You have hv ridden other range of bikes, u finally got older (61yo now) decided to keep one bike Or u r a new rider , like something easy to learn on (not too fast rider )

Great video and discussion. I recently bought a Hawk Tuah 50 for my mid-late life crisis. Always wanted one . Too old for the other kinda Hawk Tuah I guess. 😢. But it has helped. Already thinking about a Japanese upgrade. Hey adventure riding for me is making it to the dollar store and back. But I'll do it in style 😂.

I had the 250L and it was a very VERY vanilla bland bike. I got the 300L and love it for a fun trail bike. I needed to add a bigger piston and tuning pipe etc definitely rear suspension, unless you weigh 110 pounds; with those changes, it has the ummph to get around (town, or fire road trails). But make no mistake; it’s a trail bike with a license plate. I wouldn’t Itchy Boots it, or ride it for extended US highway trips, not due to lack of confidence re: reliability after changes; Ari Henning has put tens of thousands of miles on his big bore kit; it’s just not enough (for US highways). You need to be able to go 90 MPH with even more on tap in the US; that’s just the reality in 2024. I would get the Transalp 750 for true BDR rides or the Africa Twin. But back roads or forest trails or keeping RPMs less than 5500-6000 or 55 mph (though you CAN easily go faster); the (consistent) high RPM noise or drone will get old soon. A lovable trail bike. That’s about it.

I had a 300L. I loved it despite its poor highway capability, the jerky engine (maybe just my problem?), and the fact that I didn’t have any off-road trails available. It was my first motorcycle ever. It was light, nimble like my mountain bike, and seemed to run on almost no fuel. I thought I’d never get another bike until… I got rear-ended. The bike was totaled. The question then was whether I would get the same bike again despite its shortcomings. I decided against it and bought a Tenere 700.

You nailed it!!! So true about everything on KZbin, not just the CRF300L. What I like to do is watch a few videos of the product I am interested in and conclude whether it is something that fits my goal. I weed through the videos, see what is cookie cutter reviews (IMHO, Brutally Honest, watch before you buy, etc) VS the ones that actually have used it (for A WHILE) and take away what would help in my decision to go forward with it or not. In THIS video you summed it all up, as far as other KZbinrs doing what they do and/or posting their opinions. Good Job.

550 stock improved 87, throttle tamer, throttle cable adjustment, ignition on off ecu reset, bar riser, 14-45 sprockets, decades of riding experience. If I could put a carb on this thing, I would.

it's a great niche bike if you have multiple bikes, but it's only a decent all rounder. it's not the dual-sport unicorn a lot of people have portrayed it to be.

I did the 550 performance 91 octane stage one ECU. Did the 550 performance airbox lid modification. Running a K&N air filter. Did the 550 performance velocity stack ( bigger intake). Yoshi slip on exhaust, which claims more low end, torque, then full exhaust on the Dyno. After all the money, I spent honestly I am very disappointed and I don’t see the hype. Trying to get the front wheel up in a second gear clutch up is still a chore. Very little power gain from stock for the money spent. However, it does run smoother and starts better on cold start.

I’ve been riding street bikes for almost 40 years (56 years old now) and I’ve done 5-6 months of research for a “dual sport” (we called ‘em ‘enduros’ back in the day) and I’m definitely getting a 300L Rally. I know it’ll need some upgrades etc etc but I wish Honda would make that bike with about 10 more horsepower. In my opinion it would be close to a perfect dual sport bike. I can’t wait to get off of the pavement. Thx for your videos. I live in Las Vegas. I don’t watch sports either although I like golf.

I’m pretty sure that it’s not that difficult squeezing more high end speed out of this. Better fuel alone will get you something. I’m getting it because it’s not enough speed to really get me into trouble because I will push it. It’s also fast enough to get me out of most sticky situations if the need arises. I also only need an average off road bike. Just enough for the trail and off road camping occasionally. I don’t foresee more than that

The twitchy throttle happens when you're in low rpms and you're trying to barely crack the throttle open. It's like you're either at 0% throttle or 20% throttle and there's no in-between. So when you're doing technical slow stuff and you're constantly going from no throttle to barely cracking the throttle open, the throttle ends up feeling like an on off switch. Going from no throttle to wide open throttle feels fine and going from wide open throttle to no throttle feels fine when you're at speed and in the mid to high rpms.
@CheekyMinerАй бұрын
I'm having the same problem but for me its my hands themselves can barely ride 10 minutes and lose all feeling so this might help a bit.
@CheekyMinerАй бұрын
Just picked up a really nice 2017 Rally and really like it so far. Yes i plan on doing the suspension, main reason safety, just think its dangerously soft but overall the bike itself is a keeper. Has more than enough power and with small changes and keeping the costs down plan on enjoying it for many years.
@MrGeorge1978Ай бұрын
I honestly don't know how anyone can say that the suspension is OK, in any way shape or form... I've ridden a lot of crappy although fast 2-stroke's my whole life. The 300 rally is the first new bike that I have ever had and my very first impressions were that it's SLOW and the suspension is GARBAGE. And that's coming from someone who has never had "proper" set up suspension for as hard as I ride... And coming from someone who has never spent any time on a single cylinder four stroke, the 4-5K rattle and engine noise in general sounds horrible to me, but I ignore it and tell myself it's "normal" lol

I just put the d-flex pros on my 300L rally and the banjo bolt interferes with the bar clamp. Where did you get the zeta parts? Do they interfere at all with the fairing/tower? I may need to switch .. as it is now, I think a really hard fall could end up damaging the brake master cylinder.
