Congratulations Dad you are an AMAZING DAD and a lot of parents in the world today could greatly benefit by just watching this video. No yelling, the kids aren’t fighting, they’re working their little rear ends off, the kids are doing a better job than a lot of grownups. These skills are so important and can take you so far in life. Thank you for sharing y’all’s hard work with all of us. Tell your babies we believe they’re amazing and so are you! I pray more parents, especially Dads, will continue to pass on their knowledge and skills for the future generations 🙏

This is amazing and inspiring. I care for my disabled son full time. We don’t make enough money for a home loan and pay nearly 80% of income towards renting a room. It’s not right. I hope we can find someone to help us build a home.

Thank you SO much for posting this video. What a great experience for the kids and a wonderful memory for you ALL! Great little house kits, I would totally live in one of these. Beautiful

How much did you spend with all the tools you used? Is it included in the total?
@buildinginabox9 сағат бұрын
People with the skillset to build a house kit like this will most likely already have the tools needed to build it.

@@buildinginabox alright! How much would you estimate it would cost if you have nothing to start with? I’m interested in trying something like this in the future
@derekbaker7777 сағат бұрын
@@droidgamer392: They do the labor work themselves, so it's the materials you'd need to know the cost of, which I'm sure they also get at discounted price from the lumber yard.

Really cool!! My only question would be, why didn't you put the electrical sub panel in the laundry room instead of the bedroom?? Still, an amazing video about a great dad spending valuable time with his kids teaching them the value of hard work and sacrifice! Thanks for sharing!
@TheTinTin1210 сағат бұрын
that would be probably more than 50K in lumber here in Canada...

Well done dad. I wish many of these DIY homes show how to integrate the utilities, specially drain and water supply.

How strong is that house without wood sheeting? Then there is the insulation factor. A home should be sheeted out.

Watch those vented ridges VERY closely, or put screening up. There's a high chance you could get bats invading otherwise.

My only question is where y'all lived in insulation is optional? I'm in Southeastern Kentucky and we have pretty long warm seasons here but I assure you come winter time we're absolutely going to have to have insulation
@buildinginabox12 сағат бұрын
Sorry, you must have been distracted and missed the blown in cellulose insulation in the ceiling and the bat insulation in the walls. This was adequately insulated.

Questions: How long did it take? Did the cost include the foundation? Speaking of foundation, can you opt in for a basement? What was the price after running electric and plumbing etc? What's the board and batten option? Will the color options be added to the site? Can you opt for vinyl siding? How much extra?

nice job and nice teaching your children DOING this kind of stuff. BUT ihave a question respectfully why do most us houses are not reall whole build by concrete.with steel bars on every hollowed blocks like the german houses or asian houses it could really help for durability and last for hundred years. like my friends house whole concrete and its been there since.his GREAT grandpa

This is how I started in construction, and with this project alone, they have more knowledge than 90% of people. In today’s market, an 18 yo with good skills could easily make $40-50/hr, and the lack of tradesmen is only getting worse.
