Started listening to this episode in the morning and took a break only to find out about Lynch's passing. It's such a sad loss but I'm glad I got to indulge in so much of his work while he was still around. Lovely episode, lovely miniseries!

I remember seeing Die Hard in the theatre with my dad - I was 14 years old and it blew my mind. Great audience experience as I remember the audience laughing when Willis is in the duct, the FBI agents, one of the crew stealing a candy bar, the vault opening, and so many more great moments. It is the action movie template.

Re Richard Horne: My thought is that the sequence where he assaults his grandmother was originally intended to be Audrey and that was going to be the only time we'd see her and Sherilyn Fenn objected which led to what exists now. I could be wrong, but I always get a faint whiff of trolling, considering how it turns out.

My take on evil cooper's affect is that he's not Bob, he's Cooper's shadow. And Bob does not need to take the reigns from him because Cooper's shadow is just that dark, that evil.

Great deep dive. You guys are expert movie watchers. For me, this film would have done better on home video/tv, had they released it wide screen. The pan and scan version was horrible as they would constantly pan across the negative. It was too distracting to watch. They did the same technique with Die Hard and was unwatchable until they released it wide screen.

I just watched this movie for the first time today, I genuinely loved it. And I genuinely love this podcast. But this episode was annoying. Far too much negativity. So much discussion about cultural statements, when it’s a movie about a curse that drags a woman to hell. It’s not supposed to be that heavy. It’s supposed to be fun.
