Why they don't have a video of him scoring the 100 , was because those days they only focused on the big games only. That game was obviously going to be one sided

The information about the 100-point game is all over the internet young brother. It still baffles me that you have to ask that question. REASON: Basketball was not as popular as football and baseball then. He played for Philly, but that particular game against the NY Knicks was being held in Hershey, PA, some 90 miles out of town. There were about 4000 people who attended the game. The gym was old, and did not even have a scoreboard. One of the statisticians was the late, legendary Harvey Pollack (look him up). Back in 1962, TV camera equipment was a logistical nightmare to move around, so they decided not to ship the equipment since no one really watched basketball and NY was at the BOTTOM of the league then. Because they were so bad, there wasn't even radio coverage. Wilt almost missed the train, due to partying with a female the night before. Not only were the Knicks bad, but their only guy to challenge Wilt was out sick (some said drunk). To say it was a cakewalk for Wilt was an understatement! By halftime, he had scored more than 40 points. Harvey stated that by the time Wilt reached 70 points, he gave a piece of paper to the announcer, Dave Zinkoff, that Wilt had broken the all-time scoring record. Dave told the spectators, and everybody woke up. Wilt's teammates sensed something incredible was going to happen, so they started feeding him the ball. NY players stated that Wilt started counting his points out loud after every bucket past 80! They could not stop him! It was Harvey Pollack himself who told Wilt to hold up the paper saying "100" on it.

@@BIGTVSPORTS1 that's tough Wilt Chamberlain archives has some good material. Not sure how many full games still exists. I know their is still clips of his 55 rebound game against bill Russell. The amazing thing about Wilt was he dominated every aspect scoring, rebounding, and passing. Plus to be 7'1 run a 40 under 4.5 never gets tired and a vertical over 40 is mind blowing for his height.

don't listen to this guy bit TV, this is a completely debunked myth . in wilt's rookie year they still had maybe 2 guys in the entire leauge who would take on a job inbetween seasons to make more money for their familes since they didn't make millions of dollars. and those 2 guys were the very last guys on the bench of those teams. they measured with OUT shoes on in wilt's days in the 60s and 70s, the average height of players in wilts days with no shoes on was 6'5'5 the average NBA player at the peak in 2020 sih WITH shoes was 6'6.5 which is bascially the same. Cetners were also less than 1 inch shorter in hisday vs the peak, but you factor in the no shoes, th ecetners were just as tall if not taller. also, they work chuck taylor converse shoes with were horrible for you rfeet, just find a picture o fthose thigns. you will see it. every single player from 1985- today more nad more, in the 60s would constatly be called for offensive fouls, for travels, for double dribbles, paling et al. as you can clearly see, wilt could have scored 3s, and if he wanted to dominate using his size like shaq did, he would have scored like 65-85 poing per game easily. they did not officially count blocks or seeals. wilt averaged lik e11-12 blocked shots per game his careeer, had games whwere he had 25+ blocked shots,and got 55 vs bill russell in a game. but they were not atheltic they say/ wrong his primary competition in bll russell could have own the gold or silver at the olymics but he did not go dut to bein in the NBA but did win a gold in his college years for being on a basketball no pro team in the 50s once wilt would have placed 11th in the 1956 olymipcs high jump based on his winning height 3 striagn years fo rteh NCAA bit 8 high jump. he outthre a gold medalist hammer thrower, he ran faster than almost anyone in NBA history. had a high jump has hig high as jordan, was 2x stronger than shaq, way more athletic than lebron.

Great reaction. Btw, 2:52 is his legendary "elbow pass". Took the ball behind his back with his left hand, made it bounce off his *_right elbow,_* directly to his trailing teammate. Your brain initially thinks he's going behind his back to someone on his right, but it ends up going to his left instead. (there are other videos where you get to see it up close and in slo-mo.) Thing of beauty!

im a nuggets fan and jokic fan but the way prime lebron could just be everywhere on the court was different. jokic as far as a pure offensive player is better but the overall impact lebron had on both ends in his prime was ridiculous. the difference between them on just the offensive end is that jokic has better touch on his shot, gets the ball in and out of his hands quicker always making the perfect decision in the free flowing offense that is created by him. and jokic is just a little bit better as a passer and court mapper not saying lebron isnt great in that department but we have the evidence now jokic is just a bit better as far as passing goes. but still lebron clears jokic as far as their primes go. jokic is closer to lebron than any other player since lebron's prime though. i know a lot of people would say steph, he's right there too but put jokic on the warriors in place of steph with those insanely talented teams the warriors have had throughout the years. their owner would always out spend everyone else and go deep into the luxury tax to have the most talented teams in the league. jokic has never played with an allstar, all nba, or all defensive player in his entire career.
@BIGTVSPORTS120 күн бұрын
@@Jsch23 facts I agree with everything you saying but jokic never had the talent LeBron and Steph had I think he would absolutely be considered better if he had the rosters LeBron has had I think we would look at jokic completely differently if he had top 5 players on his team

@@BIGTVSPORTS1 trust me bro as a nuggets fan, jokic being my favorite player, everything in me wants to agree with you but i still think prime lebron just barely clears. that dude was just everywhere, insane athleticism mixed with high IQ, court vision, and skill. jokic vs steph though no way put jokic on those warriors teams and it'd be 5 rings. Steph is still in all timer.. but yeah put even another all star on the nuggets with jokic the past 5 years, or a consistent version of jamal murray at his best or even without the acl injury and denver would be looking at 2 or 3 rings to this point. if jokic doesnt win another ring its on the front office for being lazy, cheap, and complacent, and its on murray for not living up to his potential. Ive seen the articles on how murray never comes into the season in shape and it makes me think he also doesnt take his recovery from injuries very seriously so im super disappointed in him as a nuggets fan.

If you play ball you know that ANY team can beat ANY other team on their best night. It's about makes and misses and defense. They are 4-2... Not really sure what you're up in arms about. Question... Lebron has dedicated 30 years plus to basketball and business... what is that thing inside of you that makes you feel you have the right/place/duty/gall/balls... to speak and tell LeBron or any other dedicated professional what they should do? Did you forget that Lebron is 40 years old? He is almost a BILLIONaire. It takes a LOT to be all in for 40 minutes in a game in the NBA. Lebron is an amazing X factor... if you have a team that can operate and compete and get to the finishline, having lebron is a PLUS. But if he's forced to play 33 minutes a game he's not going to be in a position to close out like he did when he was 20 years old. That was 20 years ago.
