This just proves that with a vocal mic and good technique, you don't need bullet mics, etc.

Is that the purple cream/lavender color? If so, I’m one of like 78 other people who owns one in this color. One of my most treasured guitars. First guitar I ever bought with my own money at 14, brand new for $175. I don’t play it much anymore cause the frets are almost flat.

This is so cool - thanks for uploading this! I used to get my life music fix at places like Madison Square Garden or the Oakland Arena, Cow Palace, etc...but once I hit 21 and could get in, lol - I got a taste of seeing really great musicians playing in these small, intimate clubs, big venues became a thing of the past (unless it was a Grateful Dead concert, lol). I saw Charlie, mostly in San Francisco, but I knew him and Luther - tried to catch them whenever I could. Last time I saw Luther play was in the mid 80s, in Fairfax - my old man sat in with him. His death was such a shock - he was a such a nice guy, and missed by many...videos like this are so important, a lot of the old clubs are gone (like the Sleeping Lady Cafe ) along with the people who played them...so again, thank you for putting this online, at least here, people can see these two great musicians together ;)

This is great, old, rare stuff. I'm guessing the sixties sometime? I saw Charlie in '68 at the Muir Beach Lodge and he had jeu come out from Chicago around then? and loved him then. I remember he had a great band to.

Had the privilege of playing with Luther, along with a lot of other musician friends of mine. He was always a gentleman and a joy to play with if you like Blues like I do. He was as close to the real deal as i was ver gonna get. Him and Paul Butterfield. What a blast!

Luther gave me tons of time on his stage. He was as good as they come. Even tho I was just a unknown not even up and comer, he treated me like one of his peers. we became friends. Charlie let me play with him anytime I was at one of his gigs. A pure compliment considering I'm a harmonica player. Days long past. At least I have the memoirs. RIP Luther.
