Sorry to break the bad news, but this documentary is a fake. I was really disappointed myself and felt pretty stupid for falling for it. Here is a passage from the french newspaper Liberation translated from french: "The directors certainly didn't hold back. Every cliché is there. In the documentary, the "savage" burns himself on a match (humans have mastered fire for hundreds of thousands of years…). He holds a spoon the wrong way, doesn't know the taste of salt, and jumps in fear at the sight of a mirror. Another absurd cliché is the meeting place. The "savage" has to emerge from the unknown (the forest) and cross a boundary (a river) over some hastily thrown logs to meet the Whites. Great scene - sunlight pouring over a river cleared of trees - but how can we believe that a hunter and warrior would willingly approach an unknown danger in such a disadvantageous position?"

This is a good example of how it should be and how east it can be. These people had never met. Nor saw another so different and couldn't even communicate. But quickly found common ground. By acceptance and hospitality. Simple kindness that's uncorrupted by modern social issues.

Does anyone recall the documentary or title? Of a similar but tragic story. Of a missionary being killed by tribesmen. After landing his plane nearby. I think his son later went to the place. Then met and befriended the man responsible.
