The colors are different kinds of radiation coming from the sun. Not oxygen and nitrogen. Solar plasma.

So pretty! I used to think it wasn't real, until May when I witnessed the Auroras first hand. And although they didn't dance quite as much as these ones, they did move & change some. The colors were absolutely dynamic!

I was in Tromsø last week and saw very bright lights. They were nothing like what the camera captures. In fact, you can take a picture of a dark sky and still capture beautiful, bright green lights. Honestly, I think it’s a bit of a scam that this information isn’t more widely shared with tourists. Most people there were expecting bright green lights and had no idea they wouldn’t see them with the naked eye. It might sound like I had a bad experience, but that’s not the case. I absolutely plan to go again and enjoy it just as much. I just think it would be an even better experience if people knew what to expect beforehand.

October 10 2024 I thought I heard a low buzzing noise going with the pulsating aurora I never heard a sound simular to that anywhere else and it went to sync with the aurora

Thank you for your instructions on cleaning the MIOPS SPLASH device. TWO QUESTIONS: Does using food coloring, Xanthan Gum and or milk increase the need to clean the MIOPS Splash device? How often is cleaning required?

I've seen red once in 49 years. I was driving home and was 20 miles from anywhere. Had a 1 megapixle camera that wasn't set up for nighttime and no tripod. Got a blurry out of focus shot.

I’ll be using these tips and tricks. I have a note in my notes app. I just got a Tokina 11-16mm lens for astrophotography and capturing the Northern Lights! Went to Iceland with my family and the one day they showed up, we did t go out. Then in May, I was in Chemainus, BC and saw them, but didn’t have my Canon 90D, so only got them on my iPhone. Hopefully this winter when I’m back in Vermont, I’ll be able to capture them with my Tokina lens. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I paid 349 uk pounds for a Canon 6d, Sigma 17-35mm f2.8 was 95 uk pounds and 150 uk pounds for a tripod, a great combination, it really impressed me with the Northern Lights here, even more impressed as it was my first time seeing them let alone photographing them.
