I also use DaVinci Resolve 19 and our color windows are completely different. Edit: This doesn't apply to free users. Should've figured that from the start but it's silly.

This fixed my old Cannon Rebel T6 by changing the date. Here I thought my sensor was dying! I may of missed it but where was the segment about preventing this in the future? What causes this to happen and can it be avoided?

best decision ever to switch to Davinci Resolve Studio, really folks, if you are serious about filmmaking, there's no doubt Davinci Resolve is way more powerful than Premiere, and let's not talk about Final Cut, I was a Premiere user for over a decade and I regret not switching before

Is there a way to select part of the track, make the software learn it and then remove all similar instances from the whole, much longer audio file? Without having to silence every instance manually? And i'm talking about 5 seconds of the clip (too long for Auto Heal). Years ago i have recorded the radio play (history, world war 2 mostly) and recently digitalized it. It's all hour upon hours long and every few minutes there is a theme that i would like to get rid completely - just cut it out. But to make that manually it would literally take me days of work.

I just went for broke and bought the paid version. I was coming from CapCut Pro and starting considering this a few months ago when I heard about the possible ban of TikTok. I bought it a month ago, went through a bunch of training videos and their training books, and posted my first video using the software about 48 hours ago and it is taking off. I have absolutely no regrets about buying it without trying the free version first!

Here is a question I've not seen addressed: What is the difference between putting your LUTs in the Resolve LUT folder (Accessed in the Project Settings>Color Management>Open LUT folder) and putting your LUTs in an accessible folder on your machine and pointing at that LUT folder using the Preferences>System>General>LUT Locations method. Most tutorials seen to use the first method. It seems to me that keeping the LUTs separate from those that come with Resolve would be preferable. Thoughts?
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 7 күн бұрын
It’s all preference; some people have lots of LUTs and would prefer it in a different place, while others just have a few go-to LUTs and are ok with it in the default location.

@ It's not in the free version. Also, in the studio version, as of v19.1, they moved it to a track-layer effect, instead of a clip layer effect. Click the track header to select the track, go to inspector, switch to track level view, apply dialogue seperator. Hope that helps!

Great video. I know this is gonna help my workflow a lot. Do you know if there is a way to, in the "Skin" panel (as you showed), to drag the Center line up and down while ALSO showing the Highlights? It seems like you have to do the slider, THEN hit the highlight button. It seems like a better design would be to see the change as it's happening. Maybe there is a way to do this; maybe not. Thought I'd ask. Thanks again!
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 11 күн бұрын
Good question! I think this ‘Skin’ setting is designed for quicker work, so it’s somewhat limited when it comes to wanting more options, but you might get what you’re looking for by opening the Scopes and seeing if one of those show what you need?

I recently went from Premiere Pro to DaVinci, after using Adobe for years now. The difficulty to quickly replace media is the only thing that's been bothering me a bit. In Premiere Pro, all I need to do was holding the Alt key and then move the new media on top of the old one. I could even drag a media directly from my computer to the timeline and replace another one simply by holding Alt. I do that constantly on my videos and now having to 1) move the new media to the media pool, 2) find it in the media pool and select it, 3) put the playhead at the beginning of the media to be replaced, 4) select the correct track, then 5) clicking Replace, makes everything really slow. I guess I'll have to get used to it. :(

Great video with some very helpful information. Could you please do one to show how to delete a video clip in the middle of a timeline without the rest of the following clips on that track jumping backwards and throwing them out of alignment with the tracks above and below the track in question. Essentially, I sometimes just need the gap left when deleting a clip fro a track to be able to insert a different clip of the same length.Thank you.🙏❤️
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 13 күн бұрын
Glad it was helpful! To answer your question; simply select the clips you want to delete, and hit the backspace, or delete key on your keyboard! This will delete only those selected clips and will not ripple delete your clips in the timeline. That being said, we do have a newer video 'How To Edit 10x Faster' that you may find helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2nOloKDlrpso7s
@BlueViking70
@BlueViking70 13 күн бұрын
@AlliandWill Thank you. When I normally delete a clip it moves the next clip backwards over where the previous clip was, instead of maintaining a space. I'll try it using the backspace key next time as you suggest,

What's the difference between the X9 Pro and the X9 Pro for Mac. Using the link you list, the Mac version is $200 more.
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 14 күн бұрын
The Mac version isn’t needed. It is just already formatted for Mac, but we have a video on the channel showing how to format any drive to Mac, so I’d recommend saving the money and getting the normal X9 Pro, then formatting it yourself 👍 (if you aren’t using a Mac, then you can use a PC to format it to NTSC).
