You know what is insane, my truck just sat in my driveway for almost 1 HOUR running at 2500 RPM wasting diesel and expelling crap into the air for a regen. All the while killing my engine with soot with this EGR crap. What irritates me even more is that these trucks are not lasting as long thereby creating more waste. Such stupidity!! In my opinion, causing more harm to the environment than helping.

When the FASS EGR filter regens, what happens to the soot build up? Will it turn into ash then pushed through the system? Sorry if my understanding is off. Any clarification would be great.

Gotcha, the soot that is burned will be atomized before it flows through the rest of the EGR system.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. We're looking forward to releasing more filtration data and test results in the coming weeks. That said, the filter element utilized in these kits was engineered in collaboration with one of the leading filtration companies on the planet. Though this is a custom-spec filter for our purposes, the technology utilized within has been deployed in various applications for years. As the fleet of early test vehicles accumulates more miles and returns for oil analysis and soot accumulation evaluation, we'll be sure to share the results.

I installed mine with 5000 miles on my truck. 6.6 l5p Duramax. The stock pipe I removed already had roughly 0.5mm of soot caked on it. My Intake Map sensor has already been cleaned at first oil change (Sooted up, common l5p problem) I would say any amount of filtration to keep this out of my intake tract is all I need to spend $1500 to save my $20k+ engine. Just my thoughts. There are Do'ers and Don'ters in this world. At least these guys are trying to DO something about the problem. Deleting egr is not an option yet on my truck. This is the best bandaid until that time.

@@whitepearl7949 Sure, great point. I tend to trust good companies. I have had FASS fuel filter combinations for years now. Reliable good products. I know what is NOT working, and that is dumping unfiltered sooted exhaust straight into the intake of my engine. Coked valves, sooted intake, sooted sensors that have to be replaced at laughable intervals, etc. If you look at the filter and point it towards the sun, you can see the filtration media inside the filter. To say "no proof it works" is easy for you. I highly doubt FASS did no testing or comparison. I understand your apprehension to take the first dip, but there is more proof the factory setup is killing your engine. Gook luck in your search, and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

That is fantastic. Hopefully you can get it both CARB and EPA legal. The soot is killing the diesel’s. People keep stating Delete Delete. EPA is on a Rampage on companies selling defeat products. EPA just busted another company. EPA busted EBAY for letting sellers sell delete devices.
