How is this working with redshift materials? Emit from texture seems to NOT work with RS materials. Particles just don't recognize any color or emission data.

im coming from blender, on the one hand im glad to have cycles here cause im already used to it, on the other hand im a bit surprised, i thought redshift is way better (one of the main reasons why i started C4D) so why do people want cycles if they can use redshift?

This is a great tutorial! Thank you. I'm having a slight issue with my Tracer - I'm running a linear field from one side to the other, but my tracer is still tracing static particles before my linear field has even passed through. Then once my field has passed I get the motion as expected. So my scene starts off with a bunch of dots waiting to grow basically. Is there any reason as to why this is happening?

Here’s the solve, for octane, create a “vertex node” in the mode editor for a material. Then pipe the color tag from the vdb into that, then into the diffuse channel

@@jespersandell9020 I`ve tried to do it on a Car, it turned out that I needed to do every part of the Car seperated. FE: Hood, Doors, Lights,... Due to the variation of Polygon Density, the Partivles behave different

great tutorial! one question, when i go to modifiers on the inner emitter at 14:50....it doesn't have the option to pick the mode of include or exclude. would that option be located somewhere else? all that it gives me is "only in the same system" box to check

Thank you! It should work. If it doesn't work natively you could probably export it as VDB and then apply the coloring with Redshift.

c4d 2023 does not have a noise channel in the displacement shader atleast not for me unfortunately any other options to get the same sort of effect?

Please could you tell what should i fix as i do not have any traces in cinema 2023? The whole setup was built 3 times exactly according to the video. Particles move but tracer shows no traces

You could add glow inside of the renderer. However, I almost always add glow in post.

Watched the tutorial, then got to the redshift bit. Put that in the title. I use Octane, but was going to use C4D renderer as I assumed that's what you would be using.

Hi Bruno...I don't have a good answer for you. But in my experience. "To the hammer, everything is a nail." We tend to look for solutions within the skillset we currently have - including brainstorming and ideation. With a varied skillset you can approach problems from more angles...even if it's not directly related to the original concept. Anyways...that's how I see it. Cheers Jesper

I'm using a fracture object with a very low poly model. When I follow I get too many particles outside of where they should be and also outside of the capsule. I only want the inside but the vertex map I get from the xpVertexMap only sees the edges. I can invert but then I don't have the inside faces. The Fracture object of course produces vertex maps of in/outside verticles but I can't seem to use these somewhere to substract the outside from the xpVertexMap results. Any ideas how to do this?

I'm not quite sure. However, vertex maps need resolution. The geometry needs to be fairly dense for vertex maps to work properly...you want evenly spaced topology. N-gons, for example, are not your friend when it comes to vertex maps. So if you only have details around the edges, the map doesn't have enough information to work with. I hope that helps...

Hey Kelly. I'm no lawyer, so I can't give any legal advice. However, I've seen quite a few reels and samples from people that clearly just copied a tutorial. It may not get you in legal trouble, but it certainly doesn't help your "creativity points." It's very obvious. My advice: Learn the techniques from your training...then apply them to a new project and change things up.

just use MP4 texture on a text rather then doing all this. you can get the same result with it and save lots of time.

this isnt working for me, i have done this 6 different times i have redshift i am following step by step but at the 9:30 mark on the vid when the lines show on the extrude it does not happen for me it grows out of the mesh in lines instead of on the mesh can you help

hello, i am just wondering how can i write the characters faster? my particles are moving a bit too slow, they couldn't finish writing even after 1000 frames. i think i followed your tutorial exactly, but im using r25.

Well, as the software updates it breaks some functionality and backward compatibility. In the Fluid S, simply change the Flowfield back to using "along spline" instead of the "random." And use the "S" spline provided in the project.
