😂 I just came across your videos about showmanship! I know you haven’t posted in a while, but I was wondering if you had any tips about teaching a horse to have a nice pleasure lope? 😊

That first horse looks identical to a horse I used to have. It warms my heart to see this horse. Mine died of COPD we had to put him to euthanize him because he was struggling to breathe and we done everything we could including oral steroids to open the airways. He lived a long full life and passed at age 25. He was the sweetest horse I ever had. He was a good boy ❤️

This is a good introduction for a raw beginner. To explain all the differences would take hours and are usually learned over years.

laurel, my 15 yo mare is so lazy; she just hates to back up, and she places in showmanship, but we could be so much better, what can i do to get in sync on the backing and pivot, and she out smarts me in the show pen, she will execute 100% at home 70% at show.....

when she demonstrated the walk trot canter for both the english and western it looked super slow. the canter should be much faster then the trot. also fix your microphone.

I ride western and have always called it “Walk”, “Trot”, “Canter” and “Gallop” although Gallop is not often used. Didn’t know I was using English terminology.

@rustinstardust2094 Жыл бұрын
@@Flowering_Azalea Do you recommend learning western first, before english?
@Flowering_Azalea Жыл бұрын
@@rustinstardust2094 no, learn whichever you want. Both are great and have benefits, just make sure you choose an instructor that won't have you hurt the horse. That is a very important part
@wioi Жыл бұрын
@@rustinstardust2094 you should learn English first imo to learn proper balance in the sattle. Imo it's also a lot more fun
@laurelcook90782 жыл бұрын
Me who does both: Corporate wants you to find the difference between these two pictures. *They are the same picture* Edit: I know they aren’t exactly alike, they just have the same basic principles of inside leg to the outside rein, keeping the horse balanced, the rider should look relaxed, the horse should pick up the correct lead, and finally the biggest and most crucial similarity: *Press yo mothafuckin heels down lest you wish to perish*
@XX-zk2lf2 жыл бұрын
I've done both & I definitely prefer English. I like the fashion better, too. Lol

Nerves are good! It means you care. Channel it into useful energy and say to yourself, "I've done the work and now it is time to show it off!" Give yourself plenty of time before your class so you don't get stressed that way. Remember why you are there: to have fun!! After your class, no matter how it goes, thank your horse. Good luck!!!

I know this is three years later, but if you're still making videos I would love to hear about the differences in riding cues for English vs Western. By the way, your horses are beautiful. 💖
