Marr and Rourke are two of the best guitarists ever. They compliment each other so well.

It’s always young people that make the most legendary music. That’s why I still pay attention to new artists to this day.

Fico me perguntando como esses caras conseguiram fazer tantas músicas boas em espaço de tempo tão curto, músicas que tocam e são sucessos até hoje em dia.

In the 80s, when everyone was using distortion, chorus and reverb at full blast, there was Johnny Marr on clean guitar. Genius.

I have always admired this band for their unabashed eccentricity. From a literary standpoint, Morrissey was a direct disciple of Oscar Wilde with his humorous, erudite, and artfully rebellious worldview. Musically, the band were channeling diverse influences from the 50's, 60', and 70's while Morrissey was drawing from diverse cultural influences going back to the 19th century. Hearing this band for the first time as a young teenager in the 80's, I was floored. Although a product of their time, there was no other band like them in the 80's and there is no other band like them today.
