When ol’ Ivan Vasiliev came bursting out onto stage you couldn’t help yourself from going “ oh myGod; poar!” He’s such an explosive dancer and of course that scene in particular shows off all these talents. I also loved Leonid Sarafaov’s incredible lightness and Roberto Bolle’s drop dead elegance and all round gorgeousness. He is so much taller than all the others so it’s quite a bit harder for him. Alban Lendorf’s exquisite dreamlike litheness. 🎉 He was a light as a feather. The German dancer Friedmann Vogel nailed it, he made it all look easy and had a very winning smile. Some of the dancers forget to connect with the audience, but he didn’t. How the hell Vladimir Shklyarov pulled off those incredible technical steps. I’ll never know . 18 years of training I guess !! They are ALL fabulous dancers, the lot of them. Thanks for posting. It’s interesting seeing all the different strengths the dancers have in the different choreographic settings. I too love Kim Kin and McCrae.

I suggest that the continuous coughing person, should be withdrawn gently outside the concert hall, because he spoils the performance, and he should have apologized on attending the concert from the beginning, this is the protocol of concerts attendance.

Never been interested in ballet with it's extravagant gymnastics and contortions, often, to me, out of place in the narrative. I came looking to hear what a Mazurka sounds like and had a lovely surprise. This was delightful. With music like that, what else could you do but dance? And the dancing, though completely beyond my capabilities looked like what I would want to do if I could. Beautiful costumes and scenery, everyone enjoying themselves, tuneful, vivacious music and dancing, real dancing - I may have to look again at ballets.

It's your preference, and that's fine, but it's almost criminal to at least not include Tetsuya Kumakawa, Carlos Acosta, Rolando Sarabia or some of the older legends like Baryshnikov and Peter Schaufuss. Very few people on this list can compete with them. Glad to see Alban mentioned though, I think he deserved higher. I was in the same ballet class as him as a child, and I never imagined he'd become the superstar that he did. *Edit* Vasiliev is easily first imo

These ladies are my idols. They endure bruises, blisters, sore feet, sore muscles, aching bodies for the love of a wonderful, graceful, very appreciated art. They are my heros, I would have loved to dance ballet in my childhood, it is so beautiful. Thank you, ladies for superior training and love of the dance. You are incredible

@@SuperBalletgirl101 Thanks for taking the time to respond. Seems odd to me, so quickly to do this. I LOVE this man's dancing; his polish and finesse and strength amaze me. Actually, I didn't even know he had begun playing the lead roles, such as above and also, is it Sigfried or Cedric, in Swan Lake. And, I had no idea about his hearing! Bless him. I hope all goes well. thanks again.

@@SuperBalletgirl101 Oh! You know so much more than I do. I live in US. But, all the ballet DVDs I have are from The Bolshoi and Royal Ballet, one from Italy, I believe. So, he was underused. Amazing. Show business is an odd thing. I've seen a lot of dancers, and for me to pick him out means a good little bit. I was a professional dancer but not in ballet! I thought I had seen him in Swan Lake on KZbin. Is that from Dances at a Gathering- an excerpt? I have him in small ensembles in Manon and Giselle with Muntagirov (whom I also love). He has a large secondary role in Swan Lake with Muntagitrov and then Bluebird in Sleeping Beauty. Do you know of other DVDs out there? You are so very kind!
