**Review of Oceanic Dive Housing: A Disappointing Experience in Sharm El-Sheikh I recently used the Oceanic Dive housing during a dive in Sharm El-Sheikh, and I must say I am deeply disappointed with its performance. While the housing is advertised as a reliable option for underwater photography and video, my experience was far from satisfactory. During the dive, the housing disconnected multiple times, causing the iPhone screen to go black and rendering the device completely unusable underwater. This issue occurred repeatedly, both at the beginning and towards the end of the dive, making it impossible to operate the iPhone or any functions of the housing. The frustration of not being able to capture moments or even check my settings was immense. Moreover, the iPhone frequently overheated inside the housing, displaying a heating warning and becoming inoperable until it cooled down. This is unacceptable for a product designed to be used in environments where quick and reliable access to the phone is crucial. The housing is also extremely sensitive. A simple jump into the water or a slight crash on the surface would cause the iPhone to disconnect, again rendering the housing useless. This sensitivity raises serious concerns about the product's durability and reliability. The only positive aspect I can mention is that the housing does seem to provide a secure seal, protecting the iPhone from any leakage. However, this one advantage is overshadowed by the numerous flaws I encountered. In conclusion, I do not recommend the Oceanic Dive housing. The frequent disconnections, overheating issues, and overall sensitivity make it a poor choice for serious divers. It simply does not live up to its promises, and I regret my purchase.

Why can’t I playback videos while the housing is on? I get a play button with a slash through it. I have to remove the dive housing in order to review them on my phone. Very inconvenient!

Ok does anyone know how to set it up so it’s continuously recording dives? I spearfish and the screen keeps locking and stops recording dives and the touch screen doesn’t work well wet and gotta take gloves off etc 🤷🏻‍♂️ just got me frustrated and didn’t worry about recording my dives and bought the Apple watch specifically for diving

Why do the freediving session automatically end when you surface and lift your arm out of the water. There should be a press and hold to end session function. Auto ending a session is very silly

Is there a software update coming soon? Just got the housing for Christmas, but a lot of the features do not function as advertised or described in the manual. If there is no update soon, will have to return it.

Hi. The video replay mode doesn't work. You can only replay photos with the App when the phone is in the box. It's too bad because it's usefull to replay when you shoot underwater.

What's the cheapest Nitrox capable standard Oceanic computer that uses the same algorithm/would be suitable as a backup computer for use with this? (I'm thinking the VEO 4.0 gives Nitrox and you can pick the Bühlmann ZHL-16C algorithm, but is it in all ways going to produce identical results to the computer (if given exact same time/depth, etc)

$10/month for something that my other Oceanic dive computers do better (air integrated)? bring it down to $2/month and I might consider it as a back-up computer.

When will these be shipped? It was reported that shipping was to be end Sept when we ordered. It’s now November but it’s still not shipped.

What if you don’t want to use the Dive computer but just want to use the app for pictures and video and the color correction, do you need to have a subscription for that? Because the housing costs $500, I really don’t want to have to pay $10 a month for an app to use a Dive computer when I already have two other ones.
