Paul, this is the most detailed video I have seen on KZbin about growing Dekopon. Love your in-dept videos on touring fruit farms, nurseries, etc. Big thanks to Tim for sharing his experience/findings growing Dekopon that's just not available anywhere. One of our CRFG chapters should invite Tim to speak on the subject. Thanks again. I've 3-yr old Shiranui graft on small, Valencia tree in mostly shaded location unfortunately, with 2 small fruits growing this year.

To be clear... you don't just need roots, you need a section of rhizome with roots that has buds on it to produce new canes and rhizomes in the future. Otherwise the plant won't develop going forward.

Wow, thanks for that, mate! It’s a pest plant here in Australia, and I know where there is a lot of it, recently flowered. I’m looking forward to bag fulls of bush tucker in a couple of months' time. The farmer hates it as cattle won’t go near it and birds spread the seeds.
