Hi Paul, I grow some in white pots to avoid sunburn in the heatwave. Maybe you could experiment three plants to demonstrate growth with terracotta vs white plastic vs black plastic pots in the future. Glad gophers didn't eat all your dragon fruit cuttings. 🎉

Hi Paul back in the 90's we started growing African Cycads in 15 gallon black pot's and we partially buried the pot's, and it's still being done because the growth rate is excellent and the plants thrive like their in the ground.

Does aluminum foils cover helps ? And what type of soil do you use if that does affect the temperature ?

Why do you grow your dragon fruits in pots?
