The absolutely moronic word salad Mosley spits out, says enough. Schumacher's dead eyes and emotionless face (except for utter contempt for everyone around) betrayed him every single time and no one seemed to care all that much.

The irony is that Schumacher fans/ apologists are extremely gullible, impressionable people. This has *nothing* to do with his talent, which was immense. He broke the rules, it is absolutely clear as day. His abundance of self-confidence made him a champion, but it was bordering into narcissism, an attitude which he hid well but let slip here. Perhaps that is necessary to be one of the goats. But like Senna, he could not handle the possibility of being beaten by someone inferior, and was willing to destroy everything to prevent it.

At first, the Greatest jinked left when Villeneuve made the very risky lunge into a gap at the last moment. The Greatest then jinked right to get in, and this, by great fortune for the smaller driver, made Villeneuve's gamble pay off, as it assisted the Canadian around the bend as Schumacher ricocheted off into the gravel of infamy. Infamy, since they all had it in for him, pursued him into the stewards' star chamber and the stocks of the hacks, but he was too gritty and wily to become trapped or in any way deterred from his goal. He read it well, he played the game, he flew closest to the sun of victory and controversy, but it was the chasing pack who were ultimately frazzled by the heat. He was not merely a corner of the square that rebuilt Ferrari. He was the star whose gravity and vitality bound and energised the masterful emperor, the total technician, and the dispassionately desirable designer within his orbit. In Formula One, each man must become an organ of the winning animal, but the Greatest are always its stomach. Formula One is gone, perhaps forever, but we must never forget what made its golden glow burn so brightly.

Why is this any different from any other situation where F1 drivers come together?
@Drenwickification3 ай бұрын
Because almost always when f1 drivers come together it’s not intentional… Bit like why seb got punished and it was a big story when he intentionally crashed into lewis years ago at Baku And this was especially a big story as Michael was essentially trying to cheat to win the championship, which he already did a few years prior with Damon hill

What a bs explanation from Mostly for the not-banning for 1998. Not that I think Schumacher should have been banned, he shouldn't have and wasn't. It's just the explanation from Mosley was total nonsense. The FIA could have stripped him and later transgressors from their title win if it was achieved through the foul play of crashing out a title competitor. Was it so hard to be truthful and say Schumacher was one of the main stars of F1 and what made the sport appealing and that's why a ban was out of the question. Instead Mostley came up with that ridiculous explanation. DUH!

What if Michael Schumacher was suspended in full 1998 season? Who could have replaced him for Ferrari.
