Hey Joe, in your vertical test stand how do you account for the changing weight (mass flow rate) of the propellant in your thrust computations? Do you have a link to a paper or video that shows this?

Tight editing! Fun to learn about all your challenges for Mach3 and I'm glad to have rediscovered you after losing track for a year or two....
@TheWadetube22 сағат бұрын
My theory is that if the vacuum bubble from going mach 3 is long enough then there will be no air passing around your fin flaps to steer with. The air is knocked out of the way so fast above the speed of sound that it takes a few miliseconds to smack back down against the body of the rocket. I don't know if it will lose contact with those flaps at a speed of Mach 2 or 3 or if at all. But in the future it might be best to put them in the exhaust trail and make them out of hafnium carbide or tungsten and very tiny, ... OR put them far out on the tips of the rocket fins and not in close. I'm looking forward to see it's performance.

@18:00 Surveyors equipment like levels and theodolites all use 3 footscrews to level for that reason. In the 1800’s they used to have 4 and was a nightmare to get all level without play or tension in one leg. And then you immediately say the same for your design, lol👍🙂

1) you're not stupid, but I was honestly surprised you didn't insulate the servo connections against the carbon fiber haha. I was like ok.. "he's going to hot glue the connections or something right? " Awesome video, keep up the hard work looking fwd to the space shot and beyond!

It's not a smart or sustainable improvement. So don't be happy. And improve your own work and suitability to contribute environment and don't copy to Elon. Why u didn't use wheel to ur rocket landing purpose.

Boeing being anywhere near a fucking rocket should be a crime, they have the worst safety of any modern airplane, and yet were just cool with them making fucking rockets?!

I really like your channel. I noticed that you are very thin, I think thinner than you used to be. Are you eating enough? Seriously, you should eat 1.5 times as much. That helps me with stress too. You seem a bit annoyed. Well, things are looking up again, if you put in that much effort, you will eventually reach the top - but please rest and eat sometimes... A day of sheer boredom is sometimes super healthy. Keep rock(et)ing ✌

Dumb question but have you considered using a bunch of thermocouples in various places to actually measure the temperatures over time? You could probably embed them and the wires into the goo during spin casting. You might be able to use this temperature data to better tune thickness and material properties of the goo.
