Made in America by undocumented workers. These knives are far worse than most Chinese made knives in all regards.

Love this video. The only test left is the finger cut test. All my knives pass this test with out even trying.

I have the Bear and Son Farmhand Jr. and what you did in your test looks alot like how I treat my knives,lol................... good job!

I have that exact knife with the exact same problem. Gonna give this a go. It's such a beautiful little knife. Shame case don't take the extra time to get them right from the factory. Thanks
@remixato11 ай бұрын
The problem is that this method is more bending than centering the blade. The pressure and tension of the pivots are unbalanced in these cases, so the blade can not go straight in the fold position. Unfortunately it is not that easy to center it really because the pivots are not screw pivots. On my swiss army knives i have the same problems.
@jdlhud35711 ай бұрын
It worked!! I did this to one of my case knives that had very poor centering. I used a wooden dowel and a hammer. Only took a few hits. Thank you for this.

I only buy Case knives from a store so I have no problems with anything except one with a tiny gap on the back and I use that knife daily so I don't care if it's messed up a little . Never had any problems with any Rough Riders I buy online

T10 is an underrated steel, often used on swords/katanas. Honestly, it's better than 1095 in a lot of ways.

Buy The Bear and Son ..yeah they have their QC issues but we need to support American cutlers plus the Bear and Son is an heirloom _u can pass on with pride ..Rough Rider..not so much...unless your from China..imho
@ilias5185 Жыл бұрын
Buying American made should technically signify no QC issues. Made in the US isn't a selling point in itself. Why would you support a company that doesn't have their sh*t together, regardless of their location? W that being said, I'll likely order a bear & son cause it's one of the few manufacturers left that're still producing a 1095 lockback lol

dude show some love to that poor axe that's been sitting out 2-5+ years. Go sand and oil that handle, buff the rust off and oil the head too, I'm crying
@stevewalker4638 Жыл бұрын
Send it back to case ..
@Downhaven Жыл бұрын
Even if they replaced it and sent a brand new one you still have high odds of another off center blade. I only buy case knives in person anymore, every one I've ordered has had blade rub or off center blades at minimum.
@PlanktoniusRex Жыл бұрын
Well, you added a permanent defect that is not going to be covered by their lifetime warranty to fix one that was. I would have just sent it back to Case.
@knifesanity2342 Жыл бұрын
I don't think they cover blade centering. That's how they sent me the knife.

@@knifesanity2342 Oh, it wasn't a knock on your improv, it was a knock on Case for having the correct tools and failing to get the job done. Keep up the good work.

Welp mystery solved... Bought a Old Timer folding knife online. One side of the blade had dime-sized round hammer marks on one side. I guess thats how they fix a crooked blade in china.

Cool! But... When you use a slip joint to pierce a hard surface, without a blade block, you risk the blade closing on your hand. Gloves or no gloves, I wouldn't feel so safe! Be careful!

I love reviews of affordable knives and this practical, everyday kind of testing. Both look like good knives. Can you also tell us what you paid for the knives, or what they usually sell for? Even among budget knives, it would be cool to know if one was twice the price of the other, or if these are $15 range vs $25 range, etc. Anyway, thanks for the great video.

Thanks for watching! The Bear & Sons C137L goes for $29 on eBay and the Rough Ryder RR2333 goes for $17 on eBay. When I get some in stock I will put up links to purchase. I just ordered one of each to test them out. They both passed my test.
