My dog was a lot like this when i found him in a parking lot, dumped. He was also terrified of all people tho, so without the wanting to come part. He would growl and run from everyone to hide and flinched and screamed like that whenever someone tried to touch him (plus growling of course). He was terrified of anything and everything, not neutered, not potty trained (he was just shy of a year old.) knew he was dumped because he had a leash and collar on, we spent 3 months trying to find his original family but couldnt. He also had extreme separation anxiety and car anxiety (if he thought you were leaving without him he would scream.) It took about 3 years of work to rehabilitate him from whatever abuse he went through to make him so terrified of people, that entire time he didnt want anyone but us to be near him or touch him and didnt trust being touched, always flinching and cowering. Its hard to explain but since experiencing it, i can def tell the difference between a dog who is just anxious and unsocialized vs an abused dog. Hes 11 now and probably the calmest, most happy, well adjusted dog ive ever met. He loves people and other animals and is incredibly mellow, sweet, and loving. Hes so smart and basically trained himself. I feel so blessed to have found him. He actually ended up working as my service animal for a few years until i retired him after he got attacked by a fake service dog in public while he was working. Its sad to think back on the early days, though. I remember when he would cry and scream like this. Now he only does it when hes super excited and im moving too slow to let him inside LOL

Animals don't need a license, the humans that want them need to be verified capable and licensed.....kinda like getting a drivers license!

See, in a case like this, I would like to know if anyone ever followed up. We know who did this to him. Did the police find, and arrest them?

can't help but be a lil worried Banjo imprinted on this guy and he wont' feel the same for his new foster parents. At least he has fellow dogs he can run around and be siblings with though, i'm sure that's huge for him.

This made me tear up. The cub was adorable and I felt so bad seeing him cry for his momma and then to see mom looking for her baby! Nature is so beautiful!
