Live in Wales oddly not shown UK wide on Sportsnight the next night

There was a massive Cliche in Welsh rugby and if your face didn’t fit then you wouldn’t get picked for Wales i.e David Bishop.

Thanks for the vid, poster. I was living in Wales at the time and may well have attended the game.

Some cracking touches of sheer brilliance from Tony Ward, we don't see that sort of magic from a fly-half these days. Worth watching the match just to relive moments like that! Thanks, Simon5

A fine example of club rugby. I just wonder if adult men should be doing this. Ah well.

The Celts nicked it! The upload seemed a bit spotty early on. My thanks, however, for it.

Thank you - a brilliant watch. Skipped Uni and was on the Tanner Bank in the rain that day, having enjoyed the hospitality at Felinfoel RFC. A great win that isn’t often spoken about. Still remember Ieuan turning and chasing down Burke in one of his first few matches for the Scarlets.

Good to watch this. Was it really 40 years ago? Some good players on display a few sadly no longer with us.

Rugby was better then. Not as many injuries, few running into tackles, no defensive lines. Better tactical kicking.
@garyt111911 ай бұрын
it was much more fun in those days
@ldfreitas943710 ай бұрын
Yes, I'd agree. There was a lot of socializing after matches. There was space for backs. No defensive lines. Defensive lines were something in American football and rugby league.

Phil Orr, one of the best loosehead props ever, destroyed by Graham Price. In this day and age, he might well have been sent off for deliberately collapsing the scrum.
@maelughran69817 ай бұрын
Price was always trying to collapse the scrum though wasn't he?
@philipmarsden71047 ай бұрын
@@maelughran6981 Neither Price nor Orr were renowned for collapsing scrums, as I'm sure you know. In this match though, Orr was well beaten and tried to negate Price's advantage.

Very solid Wales pack, but the backs did not make the most of the possession. Lovely little run by Graham Price towards the end. Thanks for sharing this gem 🙂

That final drop goal...if Derek Bevan was not directly underneath it would never have been given...hell of a kick to win it :-)
