I wonder why the beds didn’t go via Tyne Valley and up the ECML…. Unless it’s crew knowledge.
@TRAlNVlDEOSКүн бұрын
It was probably because the locomotive hauling the sleeper is an electric class 92 and the Tyne valley isn’t electrified. 👍

Now that is what i call a sooty exhaust. Decent steam coal should be white, anyone with washing outside would not be happy! Still great to see live steam back at Carlsile. Thanks for another great video.
@TRAlNVlDEOS2 күн бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
@MrSteamywindows2 күн бұрын
No coal burns white: the condensate of steam is white (steam itself is invisible). Ideally, the exhaust should be light grey indicating there’s no holes in the fire and it’s not too thick. The thick clag we saw here is indicative of the fact the regulator was closed, there’s a round of fresh coal on and doors were likely closed and the blower just cracked. As soon as the regulator was opened, the clag cleared
@RaggyAl19712 күн бұрын
Nothing unusual,the loco is coasting so there's less air being drawn through the fire bars into the fire.

Can't beat a proper train loco and coaches none of this bimode multiple car nonsense. You just can't beat all the vast variety of diesel design in this era. Still remember getting the train to Bournemouth and getting out to watch them hook up a diesel engine to pull the rest of the journey as we reached the end of electrification at the time

Why both tpe class 68 pulling a network rail cargo train?
@TRAlNVlDEOS15 күн бұрын
Hi, the TPE Class 68s were being operated by DRS since TPE have now retired them from their fleet. The Class 68s are top and tailed (one at each end) so that they can easily change direction and go back the way they came instead of having to run the loco around to the other end of the train, it is also not a cargo train it is a train used to clean the tracks of leaf debris to avoid other trains slipping on the mulch from the leaves (This type of train is called a Rail Head Treatment Train: RHTT), thank you for the comment! 👍
