D213 Andania was the last loco that my Grandfather drove for BR before he retired.We have a photo of him in the cab on his last day at work, we are heading to Crewe tomorrow to see her return and thanks to Locomotive Services we will be attempting to recreate the photograph🙂

Thanks for sharing those shots. The walls at Carlisle are a better location than I had anticipated especially with no leaves on the trees and the sun not too far round. I was just north of there and got a reasonable pic of 40013. Plans had to be rejigged as 08:38 Glasgow Central to Euston was cancelled but Penrith turned out to be a decent spot. I liked the announcement by station staff alerting passengers to the approach of Tangmere - helped explain why there were so many folks with cameras on the station!

Sadly it was apparently only done last night while in the coaches were in a heard ready for the tour today so there would have been no time to remove it before this tour, thanks for the comment! 👍
