I love it! All of my old stomping grounds as I grew up next to Kennywood. I wish this would have existed then, but when I moved away in 1974, the mills were still lining the rivers. I would like to do this ride, but at 70, it may take a little longer than you! Maybe the next time I'm home...

Oh PULEAZE! People need to quit putting graffitti on things. We don't live in innercity slums where this is considered "ART" Nothing worse than taking a nice autumn walk and then coming across this.

It is nice to see the lay of the land along this trail. Do you know if "Sap St" which Google Maps displays down in the Narrows between McMechon and Glen Dale is a dirt trail that can easily be travelled by a mountain bike? Or is "Sap St" completely bogus and cannot be traveled by bike?

Very nice. I noticed also at the start, this is the old trailhead in Clairton, before it was relocated maybe a quarter mile to the north. The water treatment plant was expanded.

For those of us who are only able to visit the park in a car and can't walk far, this ride shows us the places we have often wondered where they lead and what's out there. Thank you!

This is great ! Our family had a farm tween Weirton and Burgettstown. We used to ride our bikes on those trails when the trains were still using them. Used to be Francis mine and Hanlin Station. The road goin into the back of Colliers Station went past a farm run by a fellow named Mr. Slack. So we called the road Slacks hollow. That brought you out by the "Odd Fellows Club". Wonder if that's still there ?? Anybody know?

Nice video, I noticed that at around he ten minute mark you identified an intersecting trail as the Samuel Justus trail, I think that is actually the ART(Allegheny river trail) i believe the Justus trail is the segment from Oil City to Franklin that connects to the ART at the trailhead by the US rte322 bridge at Franklin

This song was added to this video after uploading, from the free KZbin Audio library in 2016. I don't know if KZbin audio library still exists or not, but the title is ( Undeniable ) by Vibe Tracks, I chose this song from thousands of entries.

Not being facetious...are you ever concerned about running into a bear in one of the bike tunnels? These trails are pretty remote and cell service is mostly nonexistent.
@ETCruzer4 жыл бұрын
Yes I an concerned about bears and other forms of wild life on all remote trails, that's why I carry bear spray and other forms of protection including a bear bell.

I was a teenager growing up in Cabot in the 1970's when the train still ran. At 16:35 is a bridge us kids called 1st Bridge and we went swimming on the right side of that bridge. A lot of great memories. Thanks for taking the time to make and share the video.

Do Sandy Creek Trail, up near Franklin, PA. Start at the tiny car park, cross the Allegheny, then you cross a half a dozen trestles total, and one long cool tunnel! www.google.com/maps/place/Sandy+Creek+Trail,+Pennsylvania/@41.332669,-79.7751841,1100m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8833183b7f7880c1:0x786b7b8c527e9398!8m2!3d41.3232301!4d-79.7496407

It's not that bad. I have ridden this on many different style bikes, from 28c tires to 2.6 tires, fully rigid to full suspension. Sure you might have to lift your butt off of the seat in a few places if you're on a road bike, but it's not as bad as most streets. And I don't know of any paved trails that don't have similar buckling somewhere along their length.

@@dougse-bike9770 I do ... I had a cannondale treadwell It was bad on there I hated it but Maybe if I had a sport off road bike It would of been somewhat better Anything with a set of shocks up front ...
