The host is incorrect. Products don’t need to be cost competitive if they are subsidized. In addition, oil subsidies make green energy less cost competitive. But when you have a room full of oil execs, nobody is going to point out that removing oil subsidies would make it much easier for other technologies to be cost competitive. Perhaps if you had a panel of tax payers (who weren’t oil execs) this point would have been raised.

Remember that a geothermal plant can be hybrid, whit sunT or biomasses (steelwater, Ca / castelnuovo val di cecina, Italy)

Don t use diathermic oil, but rubbia's molten salt some like fertilizer.. This very stable untill 600°C

Surely this should be a phenomenally attractive proposition for existing fossil based utilities with either retired power plants or potential future stranded assets? Especially at LCOE of 20-25 $/MWh
