She said she had no desire to be the First woman, at that pt. Russians already sent TWO women up in space 20 years PRIOR: Valentina Tereshkova & Svetlana Savitskaya.

Disgusting seriously if they name a shuttle after the starship it must be one that actually goes into space 😖

I salute Curtis Brown, Jan Davis, Mae Jemison, and Mamoru Mohri on their first space shuttle mission! 🫡❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇯🇵 This was Mae Jamison’s first and last time in space during a space shuttle mission. She happens to be the first African American woman to travel to space. 👩🏾❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Mamoru Mohri happens to be the first Japanese astronaut who was part of the official Japanese space program. 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵 This is the only married couple to fly together on the shuttle, Mark C. Lee and Jan Davis, which had been against NASA policy before this mission. 👱🏻‍♂️❤️👩🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

RIP. Albert Scott Crossfield, one of the BEST test pilots, who ever lived! First man to surpass Mach 2.0 speed with the D-558-2! First test pilot of the X-15, fully completed the engines' test & the aerodynamic testing, performing 30 flights... Survived an emergency crash, later the XLR 99 engine's explosion in a ground test. Played an important role in the development of the pressurized pilot suits, & the design of the X 15s cockpit, etc.

My older brother worked spotlight on a late 70's talk by the three Apollo 13 astronauts. It was memorable, and Jim is being humble. The most exciting story ever told. My brother was blown away at how cool Jim was. He has rizz. Neal Armstrong endorses foolish presidents and is a disappointment in contrast.

Why should we be ashamed that we took von Braun to the US? He joined the Nazi Party only because otherwise they would‘nt have paid for his Rocket Research. He was just an opportunistic man. And he was never convinced of the Nazi Ideology. In fact he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 for not following the Nazi Ideology. I think he had surely redeemed himself….🇺🇸🇩🇪

How can you maintain discipline and a normal tone of voice cracking jokes knowing that you are 370,000 miles away from an atmosphere, wearing a thick coat and backpack for breathing. Even I’m questioning if it happened or not and I know it really did .
