Notice how it's not a 78 or older body.. It's a 83-79. Turbo Actually it's 80-79 because of the tail-lights.

When they made racing safe it wasn't racing anymore, it was a traffic jam. Im so old I used to respect Jackie Stewart. Looking back I realize how damaging he was to auto racing. He is why auto racing is so boring today. Nobody forced him into a race car yet he acted like a woke Marxist of today forcing everyone to bow to his non stop virtue signaling. The western Marxists do all have the same Hippy gene after all is said and done. Someone should have told Jackie Stewart to shut his piehole and quit if he is too scared of driving a race car. Those silly indoctrinated Marxist girls screaming about the climate changing too much or something that threw paint on the Mona Lisa all came form the Jackie Stewart School of modern Marxism. After all, how can one argue about trying to save lives, lololol... Yea lets not listen to these idiots anymore, k? At this point in 2025 they are a totally new human species called homo-uselessidiotis.

I wonder if anybody else has done a I want to say cannonball run but I also want to say doing it on foot like forrest gump. How long do you think it would take a man on foot to go all the way from the red ball garage? Or where it used to stand in New York to the finish line in LA. On foot that would be an incredible foot March. Not a race because you're not running that. That's a marathon that's going to kill a person. That's longer than it took to actually get to marathon in Greece. But I genuinely wonder. Could a person with enough supplies? Backup support units and everything else literally just walk their butt from New York to l. A without any vehicle assistance which would be way longer and requires so much like you wouldn't need to have tense food heaters water you would need to be prepared for dealing with wild animals out in the forest. By the side of the road it would be insane just imagine that. The Gump runnor you simply have to go from New York to l. A, but it has to be on foot, no matter what your butt can't even enter any motor vehicle. Not a bus, not a cab, not a cop car, not an ambulance. Even accept anybody giving you a lift on the side of the road. Because that would disqualify you.

I'm typing this comment with 2 mins left before finishing the video. But it seems highly unlikely it's going to get organically brought up, so I figured I'd write this now. I also didn't dig especially deep through comments, but the top comments I did read, none made mention of this. If someone much further down already pointed this out, my apologies. But I find it really strange that when discussing Ed Bolian/VinWiki's record, it wasn't discussed or mentioned whatsoever, I don't know if he himself personally did on his run, but I recall him discussing it on a podcast that other Cannonball runners around that time had gotten ahold of technology to influence/change stoplights from red to green, particularly from ambulances which utilize such a tool. Like I said, I don't recall if he mentioned it was crucial to his own run, but I certainly recall it being discussed and he mentioned how certain racers had benefits and advantages, which some people may consider "unfair" or question the authenticity of the runs due to it not being available to everyone, I believe he said he personally disagreed with that logic though. He also mentioned, as was actually included in this video, about how people did Cannonball runs during the pandemic and people complained about it but he leaned more toward approving or being accepting of it. I distinctly remember him mentioning "Through the decades, people had to compete with different circumstances, or advantages and disadvantages. Who's to say if one decade is objectively harder than another or not, but I do certainly know they're unique. Back during the original records, there weren't as many cars on the road, traffic was less of a problem. But also with the increase in traffic in more recent times, technology and cars have improved. So it's just different is all, and people have to contend with the circumstances the best they can." heavily paraphrased ofc, but that's the gist of it. Just found that to be interesting and I think totally makes sense. Anyway.. Just mostly wanted to point out the ambulance/traffic light control thing being an advantage some people had which others didn't. Which I just found to be incredibly strange wouldn't be included in this. That was one of the most intriguing things I'd heard about the runs. Other than the unique modifications people made, or clever "ruses" and whatnot. OH, also don't know if it was his record run, but Ed Bolian said his excuse for if he got pulled over, at least one of the times, was that they were transporting some human organ that was delicate and very time and temperature sensitive and was in an ice chest or something similar. I'm pretty sure human heart, but not absolutely certain. Im not even certain he did get pulled over or ever needed to use the excuse, but like I said. I find those things to be some of the most interesting and amusing about these runs.
