I did this clean today and now my laser doesn't score or engrave properly. Everything is off by just a little bit. What can I do to fix it? I am doing a recalibration of the camera right now and the test pattern is not looking good either.

Hello, This tutorial is so helpful and easy to follow. I have one question. I am noticing that the letters are very snug when in the puzzle and hard to get out. Do you have any tips to help with that? We are having to hit it on the table for them to fall out. Have you done any pegs before? I am making them for visually impaired students and they are loving them thus far!

I love my glowforge, but it seems like they went out of their way to make it it difficult to clean. Every fan in the whole thing is a nightmare to get to and clean, and instead of isolating the wood smoke and resin to one easy to clean area, they let it go everywhere, even on electronics.

Can you share a link for the 12” roll of tape you use?
Good video. Isn't the air assist fan not so much for cooling but to blow the smoke out of the way of the laser beam so it's not trying to cut through a thick cloud?
@johnnymullins92373 жыл бұрын
very nice... question: can you have the Glowforge leave the "inside" parts of the letters A and E (if that makes sense)?
@thrakena3 жыл бұрын
I imagine you can select those portions in a program outside of glowforge, set them to a different color, and then in glowforge it will notice it as two different objects and you can set it to engrave the inside of the letters instead of cutting. Never used the glowforge but that's what people seem to do.

How do you get rid of the burn marks on the edges? All cutouts on plywood leave burn marks and handling the bits will leave black marks on your hands. What do you do about that? :) As an observation, Rainbow has 7 colours :D
@lumberrevolution39113 жыл бұрын
Because it is a laser it is going to leave some burn marks on the edging. However, I have noticed that black marks that transfer to hands and other materials is because my settings were off I was going at too slow of a speed or too high of a power.

We used 1/4 birch plywood from home depot for this. This material varied in mm depending on the season from .18 to .22 mm

I oiled the board with the same oil and then I noticed an error in the lasering. Could I put the board back into the machine to laser one small line or would the oil cause a problem?
@lumberrevolution39113 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that you would run into an issue because of the oil. It might be very difficult to line it up to engrave in the exact same spot again
