ok hear me out.. what if mission 5 does fit and the astrunaut misheard the orders? and went after the missiles and sub instead or the order was changed shortly after?

@Solutus Eversol This is a good recap, but you left out some parts according to its lore. After the war, much of its intact remains were retrieved to be inspected by Aurelian engineers. It was later reproduced for research purposes, without the VTOL or optical camouflage, resulting lighter airframes and more maneuverability.

It's interesting that they chose to defend populated areas first. Other countries in our world do this too, in fact its how israel choses which incoming missiles to attack or ignore. There's really no point in stopping something that's gonna turn some sand to glass or make some snow into water so letting it impact is probably the best choice

This was perfect proof of how ANY tool, even designed to be defensive in nature, is an offensive advantage. The Belkans were terrified of Osean ballistic capabilities, so they built a tool to defend against the threat. Shortly thereafter, they launched a massive aggressive war, since the primary threat was no more.

So there’s a fun thing you can do with the Fenrir. There’s a mission in X that I can’t remember what it’s called, where you have to destroy enemies in a port without doing too much damage to the port. If you do too much damage, the normal “Mission Failed” pops up with the failed music playing and AWACS yelling at you. If you fire an SWBM into the middle of the port and basically blow up everything in one shot, the music stops, and the game stays like that for about 20 seconds before “Mission Failed” appears and gameplay stops. You can actually fail so hard the game is speechless.
