That's a pretty severe uphill lie. I got a lesson once and the teacher explained to me that it's important to try to match your spine angle perpendicular to the ground (the lie). So, if you have an uphill lie, you should try to lean back slightly so that your club head arc isn't going to smash into the ground behind the ball. I'm not sure how much that would help on a really severe lie like this one...but it's worked for me on softer hills in my area.

You don’t hold the bat in the palms of your hand in baseball. You obviously have never played the game at a competitive level.

I was struggling badly for a long time with taking to deep of a divot after striking the ball. I couldn't figure out why and after watching your video I took it to the range and applied your instruction to my swing (backswing). BINGO.....I was hitting the ball much cleaner and not nearly as deep of a divot. It's a work in progress but I think I'm on to something!! Does this apply ro driver as well as short pitch and chip shots? You are a life saver!! 🙏👏👏👏

With a baseball background, I’ve noticed I instinctively lift my front heel off the ground as I swing almost every time.. I suppose that’s me generating power from my back leg as opposed to my front as I should be doing… when I try to keep my front foot planted, I find it very difficult to wind my hips comfortably or to generate enough torque. Any tips?

The best way to find where to hinge the wrists , is just to swing the club left handed only (if you're a righty). The club will almost always hinge correctly if you have the correct grip, it won't cup or go flat, nor will you pull the club inside and roll. Now just add on the right hand with a 1/10 grip pressure, keep the right arm pretty tight to the chest and be left arm/ hand dominant in the backswing. The right hand should just be along for the right and your swing will hinge naturally.

Richard. What do you do if you can’t commit to a shot on the course, because of negative images or negative history.

Dr Bob Rotella does a great job of separating the definitions of arrogance vs confidence, and I think that could help you. Arrogance is “knowing” you’re going to pull the shot off. That feeling is simple on a 2 foot putt, but maybe not in the situation you describe. Confidence is “thinking about” the positive outcome. Possible in both scenarios

@@RichardRiceGolf Apparently, Jackie Stewart (legendary F1 driver) tried to make sure he was calm and devoid of emotion before any start to the race. Your recommendation triggered this recalled idea. But I will also explore your observations about possible approaches when lacking commitment! My golfing buddies have been discussing this video 🤩

Stance is way too wide. I can hit down the fairway past most people with my feet only three driver club heads width of stance. How? Because then the hips are really in it. And as we know, “it’s all in the hips” 🤣

This video saved my sanity! Quick background, playing about 2 years now, recently broke 100 with irons only because driver and woods were all but useless. I learned the game at a par 3 so hit my hit scoring irons way more often than woods for the first year and it left me with a useless driver. I’m talking 0-14 fairways hit, 6 lost balls per round all off the tee. Figured out my hands were ahead at impact causing a big push that turned into a snap hook if I tried to square the face. Drilled the “straight line from shoulder to clubhead” with slow motion swings all week. Feeling my wrists being really supple, letting the clubhead catch up. Hit 5 fairways, had 8/10 effective tee shots with driver (one of the misses was the best drive I’ve ever hit that rolled through the dogleg and into rough, couldn’t locate). I literally missed with ONE drive all day and averaged 228 off the tee AND the range was closed so my tee shot on the 3rd was my first ball hit with driver in two weeks and it was a little push, 240 yards into the right rough. I’ll take that all day. Game changer.

I have been pulling my wedge’s recently, implementing more of a hip turn when i start the down swing has also helped (i think about starting my downswing by rotating by belt buckle while remaining strong at the top of my backswing so my hands dont lag too far behind) but im interested to try this aswell. Thanks bro
