Thank you for the video. Do you have a method to actually measure the silver purity, for example if a person wanted to test different methods? Thanks.
@anthonythomasfmg3 күн бұрын
The most accurate way I know of is chemical analysis; dissolve 1g of test metal in nitric acid and look for any color. 3 9's silver dissolved in dilute nitric acid will be totally clear. Stannous test will be white. The more color you have, usually blue from copper, means more impure. Store tests in test tubes and compare.
@harryniedecken53213 күн бұрын
@anthonythomasfmg Thank you. That might indicate that a spectrometer could be used to quantify the results. Basically it is an instrument that shines light through solutions and looks at the rainbow results.

Good evening Mr Thomas, I was wondering what happens if you're processing high iron and aluminium materials, obviously you can't make aluminium metal, but can you convert the sulphates to oxides and recover the sulphuric acid in a system similar to yours, i have about ten kilos of alloyed metals which are the remains of basically anything metal, substantial in size enough to not just oxidize, that melted together during a house fire I suffered several months back, lots of iron mostly copper and aluminium, all of our jewellery is now one with the safe, taking the form of a puddle so any suggestions wouldn't be unappreciated. Thanks, Chris.
@anthonythomasfmg3 күн бұрын
Very sorry to hear about your fire, but you can definetly get your gold back! The 4 horsemen isn't your first step, because I try to keep iron and aluminum out of the system for the most part. In your case smelting would be the best first step. I would take the metal that I thought had my gold in it and melt it together with an equal amount of copper and soda ash to oxidize the iron and aluminum out of your prill and increase the copper content. (Prill) the metal that you will be left with after you melt. Then go to the 4 Horsemen system or just dissolve the prill in nitric acid. What ever doesn't dissolve into the nitric is your gold. Caution you are going to use a lot of nitric if you go this route. That is kind of why I came up with my system. Nitric is faster if you had a lot of gold it would be worth the expense of the nitric. If you had silver then your silver will be in the nitric solution and can be precipitated out by adding pieces of copper metal and the silver metal will precipitate out as cement silver. I hope this information helps, God Bless.
@ControversialChris-o2b2 күн бұрын
@anthonythomasfmg this helps a extremely large amount, thank you, just to be awkward though, what happens if I say accidentally contaminated one of four horsemen with something like iron or aluminium? Could that be recoverable? Or would it have to be neutralised and re-smelted with more copper?
@ControversialChris-o2b2 күн бұрын
Ferrous sulphate and zinc keeps coming to mind but I don't quite understand enough to create more new steps.
@anthonythomasfmg2 күн бұрын
Typically iron and aluminum will drop all other metals out so you could just flood that solution with iron and collect your other metals as sludge, dry them, and remelt. Or you can try platinized anode with nickel cathode and try to electrolyze solution, but you may have to adjust ph upwards slowly to get good results.

@5:39 regarding chlorine and rubber. could you explain how the chlorination process of rubber gloves, and other items. are you able to give more detail or how/why you mean "chlorine make a mess of rubber," .. . compared to the "chlorination" process. all i know is that dipping rubber into (?hydrogen peroxide+ chlorine?) liquid mix.. .. do reduce the size of the pores. does the gas work differently? or would the rubber dissolve if left in the liquid? many thanks.
@anthonythomasfmg6 күн бұрын
My experience, although limited in this area, is the chlorine gas dissolves the rubber stoppers that I buy on line. HCL will soften them but hold up better. With chlorine gas I get a sludge that's hard to clean off the glass and the stopper fails. Wrapping in teflon pipe thread has worked very well for many runs. Thanks for watching!

don't know what the problem is, but the piece I stayed up late with contains silver and copper, and I can't separate them. When I go to the plumber, it comes out as if it were silver welding wire.
@ideasytnow7 күн бұрын
Wow, I didn't realize what I was starting, but let me chime in here and say, Praise the Lord. I do see your point here Anthony, like you say, you're already making the gas, may as well experiment with it. I haven't taken the time yet to understand your 4 horsemen system yet, but I do suspect that you may have a very complete system. It does deserve some time investment to be understood. It the past 25 years I've done some pretty sketchy stuff when it comes to gold refining. But I do end up with three 9's fine gold using very simple methods.
@ideasytnow8 күн бұрын
Something here doesn't sound right. I've been recovering gold from computer scrap for 25 years. The chlorine should dissolved the gold, not make it flake off. If it flaked off, that would mean that it dissolved what was under the gold. Have you tested the solution for dissolved gold?
@ideasytnow8 күн бұрын
From experience typically what gets dissolved first , is what is easiest to dissolve, and the last would be the gold.
@snoddyification8 күн бұрын
Correct. Anyone who would waste electricity for 8-48hrs generating a chemical weapon to recover about $10 worth of low quality and dirty foils, without a stannous test either should be likely avoided. You will also note he never replies to anyone who isn't bowing down to him. Why anyone would want to know his rules or spiritual choices is an even bigger mystery. Best take a look at a different site.
@kiwa75448 күн бұрын
My understanding is that he uses the Chlorine GAS to CORRODE the metal away, which loosens the gold in flakes, as that GAS does not corrode the gold. Gold does not go into SOLUTION, as there is no solution, as nothing gets dissolved! He also did this as an experiment to see if it is possible to use the gas created as a byproduct in the lye making process, and only added the chlorine generator to speed up the process. If a person does not understand what is happening, one should try to watch the video again, and then maybe ask questions instead of making stupid comments. Also, responding to idiots only grants them legitimacy, so it is sometimes better to just ignore them. Finally, God loves us all, even the idiots. Have a nice and blessed day.
@anthonythomasfmg8 күн бұрын
I ran a sodium hydroxide generator that makes about $10 of sodium hydroxide a day and I got the gold flakes as a bonus for dealing with the chlorine gas, not just piping outside. May God Bless You All of Your Days!
@anthonythomasfmg8 күн бұрын
Copper chloride was primarily made when I added the water into the beaker of gold plated jewelry filled with the chlorine gas. Every solution that is made gets run in the 4 horsemen for recovery so every spec of gold will get recovered, no matter where it goes. That is the beauty of the system and what gives me the ability to run these experiments. You can pull out the metal no matter where it is because my way of refining has no waste. Everything gets recovered and reused.

Just as an idea...I use Iridium plated pool chlorinator electrolytic plates. They are designed to not dissolve in chlorine gas and its solutions. They can be bought second hand pretty cheap when people stop using them. I believe your Platinum electrode might get partially dissolved...also chloric acid will get formed...and as a reaction with the table salt different compounds get formed ( the salt ) which are less soluable and precipitate as such. Maybe test the solution for Platinum?

hellow rethe. Mr. Anthony, as You are so cleawre person, do You have any idea how to puryfying copper sulfate from odher sulfates? God bless You.
@anthonythomasfmg21 күн бұрын
Yes, you can selectivly crystalize out the copper sulfate by carefully dehydrating the solution. The copper sulfate will crystalize out first and the remaining sulfates will stay in solution. For best results, I have found, flood the system with extra copper first than let it dehydrate naturally (no heat). Great question!
@bodziofx20 күн бұрын
@@anthonythomasfmg so You means,that i have to prepare acid with copper and when copper is fully desolved let it cool down and add some extra copper powder and wait for crystals? sorry for my english. after brain stroke i have problems with wraiting
@anthonythomasfmg20 күн бұрын
@ You do not have to add any extra copper per say. You just have the best results if the solution is mostly or heavily copper. If you have mostly, say zinc, and only some copper, it would be harder to selectivly precipitate copper crystals. When its 50% plus copper, the copper sulfate crystals will precipitate easiest and most pure.
