So I probably have no right to say this. But back when I was more active, there have been times on stream where your true persona leaked (Lol funny persona reference). This would even cause you to end stream early. I'm happy you are finally coming to terms about who you are and making a strive to change yourself and to speak out to your community. It's not great that you've come to this conclusion after so much mental turmoil. But its better late than never. So let me leave with this Jakey. College was tough. Sometimes I'd have a bad day or struggle through classes. And the highlight of my day was just coming into stream and just laughing and joking with the community. I really never been too much into streamers, just a lot of time you know. Different from just normal videos. But something about this smaller community just pulled me. The community you created. You helped me so much throughout college you dont even know. Since its been so long. Suprise! I graduated with my Bachelors in Astronomy. Currently looking into grad school or industry work. I truly believe you and the community has been a driving factor into helping me get over those tough patches in college. I'm so glad I discovered your channel. So I'll propose this. What is the point of Gardenia setting up Sunny Day? Cherrim’s ability boosts attack so that doesn’t help everyone if they’re all special attackers. And it affects Roserade’s weather ball type but it’s not weak to bugs and there won’t be any ice types around this early. I feel like she’ll still just get steamrolled with these sets, she needs coverage over sun.

There are so many things wrong with this, its hard to explain how bad some of these decisions are: First off, keeping the same number of pokemon is pretty lame. I’m not saying make every leader have 6 pokemon, but Volkner can have more than 4 pokemon. Roark…..you give him a Rampardos (which btw, wasn’t even a part of his initial battle against Ash in the anime, it was still a Cranidos), and then warp the exp curve and other pokemon around justifying its balance. Level 18 is insane. You cannot expect to have your pokemon leveled that high after fighting essentially 12-14 trainers at most up to this point. Even if you are using Rare Candies, you’ve completely thrown off the exp curve for the fights after this. Onix and Geodude are counters, yes, but they’re the ONLY counters. The solution being “bring the one or two pokemon Rampardos doesn’t two-shot” is terrible design Gardenia is fine, though due to how the game calculates IVs for enemy trainers in this game HP Poison isn’t possible, only HP Fighting or HP Dark. Fantina is terrible. Nobody thought Morty was a well designed gym leader. Also two of her pokemon can’t even pose a threat to normal types. Maylene now has a huge ground weakness with no coverage for it, and making Meditite fully physical means one thing. Burn it, set up, sweep with EQ. There’s nothing here that can touch the Gible/Gabite a player likely has at this point. Wake’s lead Gastrodon has a similar problem: it can’t hit Water Absorb pokemon, or deal damage after Brine runs out of PP. Similar story, set up and sweep. Byron…..this is terrible. Hidden Power issue same as before, Magnet Rise is whatever, but you’re going to be knocked out as soon as it ends and again, swept by EQ. Also, you’ve given the AI no moves to hit Gabite again. Here’s a better idea for Candice: Have Overworld hail, and Abomasnow in the back. The player will likely have some weather effect to override Hail if its just put at the start, so having Ambomasnow in the back to reset Hail would make it more challenging. You really made Volkner a double battle so you could use funny haha Pachirisu….and then removed Electivire.

Just a reminder that you're the first channel I ever subbed to, April 10th, 2012, 8:15 PM. I was like eleven or twelve. MrNintendoFanman, pokemon playthrough of some sort I forget which. You and the guys you'd play with from other channels (I see Goldenbolt in the comments down there) always replied to comments and it felt really nice to feel like I had a friend online as a kid. Glad to see even if you renamed/rebranded your channel, you're still a great guy. I have a lot of the exact same issues you mentioned at the start of this here, I also have really bad anxiety and am sensitive to yelling particularly, and I do hate when I am escalated to that point myself for the same reasons you said. I agree that even if it doesn't really personally hurt me, a lot of general banter has devolved into a lot of just vulgar, poor-tasted negativity and I think about it a lot.

I absolutely feel you. Yelling is a trigger for me as well. I might be in a different part of the Pokemon community than you are as a shiny hunter, but I have always made my channel all inclusive, judgement free zone. It takes some real courage to come out in public and admit that you are struggling. I hope therapy does wonders for you and that you are able to find that the load you are carrying feels lighter. So many struggle with many of the same issues me included so never feel as if you are alone in this. You are an awesome person and never forget that!

Hey brother. I’m so sorry that you’re going through it lately. I’m happy you’re heading to therapy though. After years of repressing my own issues, I caved and went every week for about a year and a half over 2020-2021. It’s a process to arrive where you want to be, but stick with it. I’m glad I did, I learned a lot about myself. Own the small victories. Accepting that there is good and bad is a huge start, and feeling confident enough to share what you’re feeling is a victory in and of itself. For what it’s worth, you’ll always be a massive influence in my life - I certainly wouldn’t have gained as much self confidence in my own voice if it weren’t for you and Alex putting me on years ago. I’ll always credit a part of that to you, and that transcends YT. That’s everyday interactions. Social media is a cesspit man, I 150% agree with you there. It’s tough, because we were all the outsider kids who found themselves online, messaging each other, going by names we came up with when we were 15 like “Goldenbolt.” 😉 And now all of the worst people decided to bandwagon on and start being actual garbage with no repercussions. I always suggest temporary purges when my friends mention similar struggles. It’s not natural for us to be so connected all the time. And you’re right.. there’s always going to be someone bigger and better at anything any of us try to do, especially gaming content creation. We’re from a different generation now. But that doesn’t mean anything. Take a beat or two, make sure you get some sleep. Figure out what small quirk makes your content yours. Because you’re the one and only JaCubAsAlways. Making the choice to go to therapy is a huge step and one that should be celebrated. I very much identify with hating yelling and feeling myself shrink away into nothing when exposed to it. I am also far from perfect by any means, but when you find your voice and assert yourself more, a lot of that respect and love that you want and deserve will follow. Most importantly, you will find a lot more of that love and respect for yourself.
