First recollection of playing against Campo was in juniors down in Canberra. His skill was such that everyone else on the field looked like chumps. It was not his footwork or his handling skills, it was his lightning fast pace. He could get past you quicker than you could extend a hand. My second recollection was when he threw that dumb pass in Sydney (against the Lions?). Lost the series. Finally, there is the 1991 WC semi final where he turned the world on its head with that pass to Horgan, perhaps the best bit of rugby skill other than when Jonah literally ran over the English FB in 1995.

Great shout - loved Philly Waugh! He was an outstanding player who had a lot of heart. 79 caps over a 9-10 year Wallaby period is well worth a mention, and possibly a stronger selection than Owen Finegan in my squad (I did say he was a somewhat controversial outside selection). Tough position to get right, especially when you consider the 3 loosies Werner went with (George Smith, Michael Hooper and David Pocock). Unfortunately there's always going to be someone left out when we put these squads together - but it drives the conversation when we do and we appreciate you calling us out on it. Re Philly Waugh, a story I heard back in 2002, was that in the off season he used to go get labouring jobs on Building sites across Sydney to keep fit and strong. Loved that! He was just a good all round solid bloke - and I think Rugby Australia were right to appoint him CEO in 2023 too.

Good shout, great player, but to be fair we missed a lot of great loosies. Could have mentioned David Wilson, Matt Cockbain, Phil Waugh, David Lyons and many more

Also would mention Matt Dunning and Matt Rogers. Neither makes the team, but great bench impact players

Great selection, guys! In terms of scrumhalf I would go for Joost simply because he was a match winner. People remember his attacking skills, but he was also an excellent defender that gave 150% in every match he played. In my opinion Fourie du Preez was a bit "overated" because he mostly played behind a forward pack whether Bulls or the Boks, that mostly dominated their opposition. This "allowed" him to be tactically good in terms of his decision making. Joost played behind forward packs which didn't always dominate their opposition, but he always made his presence felt whether on attack or defense.

That 96/97 team was probably my favourite team of all time, it had everything and the fact so many were gone by 99 RWC is a big reason why they lost. I definitely think the all blacks haven't had the wow factor since winning the cup in 2015 but that did coincide with arguably the two greatest players of all time retiring in McCaw and Carter. Still so many great names to choose from. 23) J Wilson 22) C Spencer 21) J Marshall 20) K Read 19) I Jones 18) C Dowd 17) O Franks 16) K Mealamu 15) C Culllen 14) J Savea 13) F Bunce 12) M Nonu 11) J Lomu 10) D Carter 9) A Smith 8) Z Brooke 7) R McCaw 6) M Jones 5) B Retallick 4) B Thorn 3) O Brown 2) S Fitzpatrick 1) T Woodcock

That is a proper team! Can't really argue with any of the names you have down. I agree, that 1996/1997 team was something else. Winning a series in South Africa for the first time was more impressive than winning a potential world cup in 1995. BUT, I still believe the AB's from 2010 - 2016 were the greatest. To dominate the way they did and have an 80%+ win rate across 7 seasons, including two world cups? That will be hard to beat, even for Rassie's boys

People forget how rock solid that pack including there defence giving the backs the chance to shine with there creativity. Great team selection mate. I had Campo in my team initially, but when my esteemed partner in crime illuminated that he played only one season in the pro era, I decided to switch up with Drew Mitchell. Still, I reckon old Drew is a great shout - 11 years as a Wallaby, 70 odd caps and 170 points or so, he was sensational. Radike coming off your bench would be scary too! Nice work - thanks for watching and commenting
