Thank you for this. I am a springboks fan, but there is no questioning that the AB's is the one team that keeps me up when it comes to a test day. Love the show, and love the subject. Thank you for the discussion.

Excellent job with your team selections. I would have chosen Kaino, McCaw and Read as my loose trio with Jerry Collins on the bench (and I would've been very sad about not choosing Ardie Savea). Also Beauden Barrett and Sonny Bill Williams were very explosive and impactful as substitutes and both would therefor be on the bench for me.

@@nicolaasvanderkruk5029 agree! So many great players that didn't make our teams. All legends

It’s brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face seeing you in that jersey Werner.. Black suites you 😉 Side note: top quality content boys, centre combo is the most difficult choice for me. Umanga/Barrett would probably be where I land. The rest is pretty much the team you two picked without looking at each others notes..

That 96/97 team was probably my favourite team of all time, it had everything and the fact so many were gone by 99 RWC is a big reason why they lost. I definitely think the all blacks haven't had the wow factor since winning the cup in 2015 but that did coincide with arguably the two greatest players of all time retiring in McCaw and Carter. Still so many great names to choose from. 23) J Wilson 22) C Spencer 21) J Marshall 20) K Read 19) I Jones 18) C Dowd 17) O Franks 16) K Mealamu 15) C Culllen 14) J Savea 13) F Bunce 12) M Nonu 11) J Lomu 10) D Carter 9) A Smith 8) Z Brooke 7) R McCaw 6) M Jones 5) B Retallick 4) B Thorn 3) O Brown 2) S Fitzpatrick 1) T Woodcock

That is a proper team! Can't really argue with any of the names you have down. I agree, that 1996/1997 team was something else. Winning a series in South Africa for the first time was more impressive than winning a potential world cup in 1995. BUT, I still believe the AB's from 2010 - 2016 were the greatest. To dominate the way they did and have an 80%+ win rate across 7 seasons, including two world cups? That will be hard to beat, even for Rassie's boys

I actually forgot how good Ben Smith was, I might have to have him replace Savea
