One observation not discussed, I spend a little more for the lower for the improved resale value. I'm certain I'll get $200-300 more for my all Geissele, LMT, Daniel Defense upper on a high quality (Ideally same branded) lower than I would with an Anderson or Aero lower. I get to enjoy pride in ownership of the nicer product and often improved features. If I sell later on for some reason, it's paid for itself. If I don't sell, just a slightly larger inheritance for the kiddies...lol. Think about walking into a gun store, seeing a complete LMT rifle, vs an LMT upper on an Anderson and what you'd be willing to pay. Spend a bit more up front, if you can afford the nice upper, you can likely pony up $100-200 more for that nice lower and enjoy it.

That is something I hadn't considered. It is true if you have nice other components you don't want a single cheep part standing out on your rifle.

That would be a good video for me to do. But for now watch this from John Lovel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4OaY4mwbbhkpM0si=kGbGx0fjpqP9pic4 Essentially follow these steps: Before zeroing: Make sure it is mounted with lock tight, and torqued properly. If needed using spacers. 1. Line up with co-witnessing sights 2. Shoot 4 rounds close to the target (5-7 yards) and adjust (repeat until satisfied with zero). 3. Shoot 4 rounds far away from the target (15-20 yards) and adjust (repeat until satisfied with zero).

If I couldn’t afford an expensive lower, I would definitely buy more Anderson lowers. I make over 100K a year, 0 debt, single and no children. I would tell anyone else to save your money on the lower and focus on the most important parts of the rifle: Bolt, Barrel and the trigger.

So if I get an 07 I can't deal NFA items because I can only get a level 2 SOT correct? Which in turn means to deal NFA weapons/equipment I wouldn't be able to do any manufacturing of weapons/ ammo/ parts to sell because I would have to go with a Class 01 FFL? Am I understanding correctly? Is there any way to get a Tier 3 SOT with an 07 FFL to be able to do everything? Or can you also deal NFA items after manufacturing with a class 2 SOT? Sorry for all the questions just curious how it works. Thank you!

I can't stress this enough, when it comes to DIY holsters OR store bought: Use Ulti Clips. The little plastic garbage hooks that come on most IWB holsters are a big problem. The holster may retain your weapon, but that clip will not retain your holster. I had a couple of cholos try to start a little something with me awhile back, and as I moved around, I felt my holster working its way off my waistband. I was wearing jeans and a belt. I train a lot, and weapon retention and hand-to-hand combat while carrying is a big part of my training. So, I noticed it, and just pushed it down. Nothing bad happened. BUT, had I not noticed, my gun would have fallen out while I was tangling with little Juanito, and Pollo Loco that was running up behind me would have grabbed it, and I would have been killed with my own gun, which is a really stupid way to die. I went home that night and researched better clips. Ulti Clips are metal, and clamp on. You can wear them with sweat pants, swim trunks, your wife's lingerie, whatever you're wearing. As long as you have a drawstring, or something to support the weight. I have replaced all of my clips on everything I have. They are like $15 and swap out with your standard clip. It's pricey compared to plastic garbage that doesn't work, but so is using a holster instead of an old sock you got off a dead homeless guy. It's the right tool for the job. www.amazon.com/UltiClip-850020476039-Ulticlip-UltiTuck/dp/B09D9SLHC8/ref=sr_1_1_pp?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Hya0bhk5ki-az3JbUOMj0lrTLBwtILMU9HHBIjNKyWLbAdeQtn1pSUZ5UK_gM98rbRfahJCzcLGJ0Ly4hDdp31CBhX4TR7IFzrL0f9Nd5CP-7zoVIu5vIeoU-XQFCNYHT7JvLTB3elcptnp018fNj1tPv2v7xT3UidRzQq49Xj1CR6dMzXCVr0GiTOXgviTHlyy1jJPzNLfIjFlml6wjQz1HYphMm2Z-xHNYzUCVet0b04_tim14MqgkDPCSG-JOu49AQCZXR7vDTyBQHoDyjJPyXGdYR3_KqgH3pKsz9qM.pZBuU9OR79D3aPlPK2ZC_07Vpdp6OzBX63HkQzkQw7Y&dib_tag=se&keywords=ulti+clip&qid=1732734732&sr=8-1

You can get an FFL without being a gun owner, however I would recommend getting some firearms and leaning a lot about them before getting an FFL. As for a CFLC, do you mean a California Firearms License, you should be able to get one so long as you can pass a background check and fill out all the paper work.

After the Jan 1st 2024 our only two FFL:s in the county called it quits. Newsom created more rules and regulations that make it a total nightmare. So now we have to make a 4 hour round trip for deposit then come back 10 days later for pickup. If they don't have the firearm in stock tack on a 3rd trip. Between the taxes, fuel and time it makes it almost as expensive as the purchase sometimes.. It really sucks..

Dude, You're lucky. The two cans of WD just behind your experiment could have wiped you out. Learned that from a great welding You tube. Thanks for the good demo. But add a note re the nearby WD. It has both a flammable propellant and flammable contents. Plus a pressurized can. Two bombs inches away from a possible bomb experiment. If one primer had penetrated a WD can your shop would have been gone. For next vid move the cans close protect your camera and do it outside. With a good extinguisher in hand. Hmm, you sure you’re not making 100k in pesos because that’s a sad way to think and projecting that insecurity on others is worse. True, that would be a genuine comp vs no comp test. The only reason I didn't is because usually if you don't have a compensator you don't have a threaded barrel. To be honest with you after buying real stuff, DIY gel is a waste of time and money. Even if you keep it from molding it will dry out. And re-constituting it isn't as good. It sags after a few months even in the fridge. And then you have leaded jellow in your fridge. The only reason to make the DIY stuff is just to try it out. Other then that put the money toward a real block.

Flag code prohibits poking anything thru the flag. It's disrespectful.
@TheLarkinsLair
@TheLarkinsLair 29 күн бұрын
TLDR: I didn't find anything in 4 USC CH 1 stating that putting pins in the flag is disrespectful. Long story: I went digging for this because as a proud American I don't want to disrespect the flag. So I read a bunch of 4 USC CH1 (uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title4/chapter1&edition=prelim) there is a LOT of information in there. They don't hold back on the rules. Even how to display from a vehicle, half staff until noon on memorial day. All the gazillion days to display the flag (I opt for all the days). They go into how to put it on a casket, above a road, and on and on. Section 8 goes into rules on dis-respect and there is nothing there on putting pins in the flag to display it. The closest thing I could find that could be considered is 4 USC CH 1 Section 8 (f), which states "The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling." However, I interpret that as using multiple flags as a wall paper form of covering, or like you would a carpet on a floor. From how I interpret it hanging a single flag on the ceiling for patriotisms is not an issue. Although reasonable minds can disagree and I am no attorney.
@MattPakucko
@MattPakucko 26 күн бұрын
@@TheLarkinsLair I got the info from ChatGPT. I haven't gotten to the source yet either. I'm not busting your chops for displaying the flag that's for sure. But if you think about it, poking holes could be considered disrespectful. But then displaying it sure is not!

Yes, you still need an FFL for firearms engraving. There are ways around it like if the customer is always present. Or even if you don't have the firearm over night and such. But it would be a pain, and you couldn't always guarantee that a customer would 100% come get the firearm again. So it is best to just get the FFL for engraving/cosmetic stuff. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKO4iKV_a62inKc

@TheLarkinsLair thanks alot brother! Honestly the FFL fees aren't bad so I'm definitely doing that but one thing that's irritating, atleast from what I've read, is in order to do cerakote, you have to get the $2200 "certification" for something I already have done for years on other things and I don't need trained on. Seems like a bs moneygrab to me. I also use automotive paint buloI think they still group all Coatings period together under that certification requirement. That fee is outrageous and it's looking like a bit of a monopoly on cerakote's part as I'm seeing the option to get certified thru one of the few other ceramic coating companies which probably charge less, but I'm not sure on that and need to do more research. I'm half tempted to just get the FFL alone but I'm assuming as soon as I record that I'm doing cerakote in my bind book it would get flagged if I'm not certified. If you have any insight on that part of it, I'd love to hear it. Thanks brother! Your videos have already been super helpful 💪
