Full Size Firearms Compensators? Worth it?

Great video. This is the only objective test i can find on KZbin. The only suggestion i can make to perhaps make the test more scientific is to run the non compensated test with the same barrel as the compesated test. Thank you

True, that would be a genuine comp vs no comp test. The only reason I didn't is because usually if you don't have a compensator you don't have a threaded barrel. Not to many people run around with a threaded hand gun barrel without anything on it. In the future I can add the additional test, thanks for the suggestion.

Thank for watching. I really like mine, however it does make finding a holster much more difficult so keep that in mind.

I have the same comp on a P320 9mm Carry with a full size XFrame and it makes shooting Underwood 9mm Plus P 115gr JHP MV 1300 FPS and ME 432 Ft/Lbs like you are shooting Winchester White Box 115gr FMJ. The pistol has a 4.6 inch barrel but with the AC Comp it makes it about the same size as the Full Size P320 but the added weight balances nicely when you use the 21rd extended magazine. I also have the P320 in 40sw full size and 357sig plus the 40sw Carry and pickup a 357sig barrel for that one since I like to have my 40sw to also have the 357sig barrels if I do not get the whole pistol. Right now I am looking for a threaded 357sig barrel for my P226 which I own in 40sw/357sig/9mm and I plan to add the AC Comp to the 357sig like I did to my P226 Mk24 Navy model just to have something a little different from my FDE Mk25. The P226 Navy is basically a Mk25 except it does not have the Picatinny Rail and I was able to get a Mk25 threated barrel with Phosphate Coated barrel and the Chrome Lined Chamber and barrel but just like the P320 9mm Carry Threated barrel it is a Metric M13.5x1 LH thread pitch. The P226 357sig barrel I would like to find a 1/2x28 make it easier to find the Comp but AC make both the Metric or Standard. I have one of the 194 Smith and Wesson 4006 40SW Comp Performance Center did back in 1992 with a Bar-Sto Barrel and PC Tuned Action and it shoots like a Dream with ZERO Muzzle Flip even when shooting 180gr JHP or Underwood 135gr JHP MV 1400 FPS and ME 588 Ft/Lbs that is my preferred carry load in 40sw and also in 10mm 135gr JHP MV 1600 FPS and ME 768 Ft/Lbs. I like light and fast for my carry loads just wish that I could find a threaded barrel and steel comp for my SIG P220 10mm Legion but that would make the 5 inch barrel pistol closer to a 6.25 or 6.5 inch when you add the Comp same thing with the P320 X-Ten.

Nice, I am glad you have had similar experiences with the AC comp. It works super well. Sounds like you have a lot of cool guns too! Good luck on the threaded barrel hunt. Sometimes you have to go custom, but that costs LOTS of $$$.

@@TheLarkinsLair I got lucky and found that EFK Fire Dragon makes a threaded P226 357sig barrel that came in on Monday but I am still waiting for AC to ship the Comp out and since they are located very close to the water near Tampa FL I do not know when it will show up.

Good video I see you improved your test rig. That is not hardly the best comp I have seen. But this time I could clearly see a difference. The real test is getting out the timer and have a go. I believe in breaks, comps, and porting. NDR

What make was the barrel used with the compensator?

This one happened to be the genuine SIG threaded barrel for the P320. It does cost a bit more then some of the other ones out there.

Unfortunately, I acquired a True barrel for my wife's P365 as well as my P365XL, and cycling has been an issue. We have 800+ rounds, and True states that it should only take a 100 to break it in. Buy once cry once, should have got factory parts.

How is the armory craft comp installed? Is it held on by grub scews?

Yes, it has two screws in the bottom. I wish manufacturers would start doing the way the hellcat RDP comp is held on, it is super easy to remove and is always in the right spot. It should become industry standard.

@@TheLarkinsLair Sweet! The pmm on my 365 was a bear to install, I want to build a nice 320 next so I’ll have to keep this comp in mind.
