Stop your blame against LH. Flew on the exact same plane FRA-HKG-FRA with my dad (first leg business and return First). Flight was a bargain - paid 4K return business for 2 pax and mile-upgraded to first HKG-FRA. It was awesome! Service was outperforming Qatar and Emirates (I know it very much depends on the crew). Yes, Business seats are outdated, but very comfortable!!! Always keep value for money in mind 🤗

When making these reviews I try to remain unbiased as much as I can, but at the end of the day it's Lufthansa calling all the final shots on how they want to deliver their product. So if the crew is a shitty mood, that's on them. If LH wants to contract crappy catering, that's on them. If LH wants to keep on using old planes with little downtime for structural maintenance... again that's on LH. I've flown with Lufthansa a lot over many years now and every flight can be different. I've had lots of positive experiences with them and some mediocre experiences like this one. When passengers shell out a lot of money for a premium experience and barely get what's expected, they have every right to be upset.

Once you are on the plane it is great but getting to the plane is not well organised. Aegean choose to depart from the most inconvenient gate in the whole airport (longest walk and no tea or coffee). The Tempelhof lounge is fairly near but business class customers can't use it. Instead they are expected to use the Lufthansa lounge which is over 1km from the departure gate.

I've done 24 hours on Coast Starlight from Seattle to Oakland, 32 from Salt Lake to Chicago, and have taken the train from Salt Lake countless times to several destinations within 15 hours, and I love Amtrak, and probably will in the future, but taking coach on the train is absolutely a gamble for the reasons you listed. I've had fellow passenger issues, I had someone in coach that got paranoid and angry against me for talking about trains halfway from Denver to Chicago and that made that trip difficult. I've been hit or miss when it comes to sleeping on the trains, coach is coach, usually I eliminate sleeping the night before a train trip so I know I'll be knocked out when I sleep on the train. When there's no issues with fellow passengers or comfort on the trains, fantastic experience.

You can’t compare any N. American airline with ANY Asian airline. Just the attitude ( or lack thereof) is a noticeable difference. ANA and JAL are calm and collected. They even turn around and bow when exiting a section of the plane to go into the next section.

I've ridden coach a bunch of times, and didn't have any issues. But I guess to each their own, I guess. Can always buy a coach ticket, then try to do BidUp to see if you win a sleeper roomette upgrade. More often than I've suspected I put in a minimum bid("poor bid") as Amtrak calls such lower bid levels, and won an upgrade to sleeper. You get the email 36 hours before your train departs if you won your BidUp bid, or not.
@nonrevmax10 күн бұрын
As mentioned in the video.. during the time of filming this, I couldn't really justify the cost for even a poor bid $375 CAD on top of what I already paid. Just decided to suck it up and sit in coach

I've been riding Amtrak since the mid 1970's and have been in situations all over the map. That said, if you decide to take a long-distance trip of this nature in coach, the rider has to be conscience of what they're getting into. Coach is a chair, a wide chair that reclines, but still a chair. The scheduled time to make the journey is also a given. It's also important to be aware of the time of year and the geography the train is traversing. The mountain snows and extreme cold as of late have been extreme and challenging to the railroads. Getting trains over the road can be extremely difficult and this is nothing new or special to Amtrak. These trains can run very late. There is a notable instance back in the 1950's where a passenger train was marooned in a snowbank for several days. Passengers should do their homework before they travel and devise expectations that are realistic. When I travel long distance on a train, I always spring for a private room. It's definitely worth the investment. Lastly, travel inconveniences are not limited to Amtrak. I cannot tell you how many times that I've been left stranded by an airline to fend for myself because of a late or cancelled flight. One time, I was marooned in Philadelphia on a freezing Sunday midnight morning after having traveled almost 2 hours around the tarmac only to have the flight cancelled. The airline (US Air) offered no assistance. I got a taxi to a hotel at my expense downtown and ended up taking Amtrak home later that morning. US Air told me they could get me home Wednesday. I was a dentist and had to be back in the office that Monday. The airport in Philly was like a homeless shelter. I can't begin to express the peace I felt when I entered the confines of 30th Street Station and Amtrak.

That would make sense why they don't want Battery Banks in luggage cuz it's literally trapped with other luggages and hard to dig out when they combust. While if a battery bank combust on carry-on it can easily be accessed and put out. May cause some panic but that's better than burning luggages that will (other than damage to other nearby luggages) probably take down the whole plane.

They can get kind of picky bringing any kind of produce across the border. We were usually asked if we had any produce entering the US from Canada. Apparently the rule they had was that it could be brought in if the origin could be identified (like a sticker or in a bag) identifying it as grown in the US or Canada. We bought some fruit in BC and brought it over. We kept some Washington cherries in the same bag, but my wife peeled off the Washington apple stickers to wash them. We might have bought some berries at a farmers market, and I'm sure we wouldn't have been allowed to bring those since they weren't labeled with any origin. However, once was on a ferry, and at US preinspection (on the Canada side) they told us that we could finish them on the trip and dump it in the trash can. There was no customs check back in the US though.

Hk express is a piece of garbage company airline flights. The price is not worth the hassle. The representatives are next to useless. Their policies are meant to kill human lives. Do not ever book anything with hk express. Let this company go bankerupt, ceo embezzle all the funds, and fire all workers. The price is not worth the hassle at all. The only pro is it is cheap out of all airlines. But then there is no more advantage. Miss a flight no refund. Have a small purse, it does not count as a carry on and they over charge. On a five hour flight and passengers are hungry and thirsty... no snacks or beverages, not even water. Prisoners of war are treated better than this airlines. Empty seats... cannot move to a different seat. Pack all of them together similar to farm animals ready for slaughter. Cows, pigs, chickens are treated better than this cockroach airline. Hong Kong express treats passengers worse than prisoners of war and farm animals ready for slaughter. The representatives of Hong Kong Express are completely useless. Go to their counter to book a ticket, sorry online only. Want refund for ticket, sorry online only. Want to checkout at kiosk, sorry representative only. Want to phone their customer service, sorry online only. Want to know how to get to a connection flight, they do not know. Only good thing is some of them are good to look at. But the only thing running through ones head after talking to them is not admiring their beauty, but to imagine smashing a bat into their empty heads just to end everyone's misery. Hong Kong Express policies are mean to kill human lives. Hong Kong Express has no workers. The company only has websites. The company wants to waste as much time as possible through website interactions. It then wants to drain the passengers of all the money by making sure everyone has no carry on. Everything is a check in, and weighs it by the pound. During a five hour flight, no snacks, no beverages are served. Hong Kong express wants the people to die of thirst and hunger for passengers who do not have any credit card. If passenger have cash or debit card, go die in the seat because cash or debit card is not accepted. There were so many empty seats during the flight. One would ask for spreading out so not cramped. Go die in the seat because passenger did not buy the higher quality seat. Even using random select seat, the random select seat will select seats that are bunched with other people. Again Hong Kong Express policies are meant to make sure that passengers get a 100% chance to die. Only good thing is the dead will have other dead passenger surrounding each other. Hong Kong Express Airlines should be investigated by governments. If not this company should be banned from flying. The company does not treat passengers as human, the company treat the passengers worst than animals and cargos. The company wants to drain the passengers of all money and throw the body husk off the plane at the end of the flights. Worker are barely existing. They are caked in layers of makeup to hide the ghoulish face hidden underneath. Addendum: Only thing I can promise to do is to post this same post every day to Better Business Bureau, google, reddit, every day with 0 scores. I am going to copy and paste this every single morning and every single night with a different account till I know that Hong Kong Express is bankerupt.

Last June, I flew Philippine, Airbus A330-300 (RP-C8782) from Manila to Dubai for the 1st time, but unfortunately in the high density tight 3-3-3 configuration in economy class with no in flight entertainment TV and I was disappointed for a 8 and a half hour to Dubai, flight is 90% full, good and okay, it's my 1st time providing amentiy kit and hot towel, wow that's good for me, both chicken rice, meal is good (2nd chicken rice meal was delicious than the 1st meal) and I am lucky that they have universal power outlet in economy class, which is good as well as wifi, considering there is no in flight entertainment TV on my flight. My experience, good, pillow, blanket, amenity kit, hot towel and 2nd full hot meal is appreciated, 1st meal, choice of chicken with rice or beef, I went with the chicken with rice, it taste good and okay, not the best. Pro, pillows and blankets are waiting in my seat, which is good and appreciated on a long haul flight, cup holder is appreciated if I don't want to hold the cup of water for too long, they have universal power outlet underneath every 3 seat, which is good to charge my tablet and laptop, after takeoff, the crew give out amenity kit (include toothbrush, toothpaste, eye shade or eye mask and socks, which is highly appreciated on a long haul flight) in economy class, which is super rare there days. I recline my seat and it's good, in the lavatory, they have paper cup, but too small, which is good to rinse my mouth and brush teeth, 2 hours before landing, for the 1st time, the crew hand out hot towel in economy class, which is super rare these days, good to freshen up and appreciated, and a 2nd full hot meal on a 8 and a half hour long haul flight, wow, choice of chicken with rice or beef, I went with the chicken with rice, it taste good and delicious, better than the 1st meal. Con, no in flight entertainment TV for a 8 and a half hour flight to Dubai, seat width is not good than 17 inches, almost not enough shoulder room to share with my seatmate, legroom is not good, 30 inches (I am 5'7) when I recline, it's almost worse, no air vent (except row 66 to 68) on a 8 and a half hour flight to Dubai, making the cabin a little warm, I went to some lavatory, water for washing hands is not working (until I ask the crew to fix the broken water (it's not leaking water) for washing hands in the lavatory and it's fix) (Thanks), and instead of silverware, it's wooden spoon, fork and breadknife, which I don't like because it can break easily.
