when Messi can't score in the French league, the league is called tough but when Ronaldo scores over 100 goals in serie a in 3 seasons, winning the Best Payer of the Season award and hugely contributing to Juventu's journey in ucl, he is called lucky, I don't see where the fault is, Messi was given the ballon dor in 2021 and he had a horrible performance compared to other players, not disrespecting, just telling

You clearly didn’t know ball. Messi won ballon dor 2021 bc of his performances at Barca that season and de copa America. He joined in august 2021 and ballon dor was November 2021. the ballon dor is given for the saison before so for 2020/21 saison where Messi played in la Liga. Messi had overall better stats than Lewy that year. Lewy only had more goals. And while Lewy only won Bundesliga. Messi won copa del Rey and more important his first Copa America while having the most goals and the most assists in the tournament and being named the best player of the tournament (which he was). So Messi derserved 2021 ballon dor, Lewy also derserved that year but it was 50:50. I think if you win a trophy with your nation team and have a good saison with your club and having the best stats overall you derserve a ballon dor

The way I see it is like this: think about Messi, probably the greatest talent in the history of football that had an amazing mentality, that grew up as a player in probably the best possible place for him (in the Barca teams with Rijkaard and Pep) and that has had some insane longevity avoiding big injuries along his career and this era is still remembered as the "Cristiano and Messi" era in spite of all this. Cristiano took 5 Ballon d'Ors away from Messi (and everyone thinks that he should have had the 2018 as well) and went head to head in the greatest rivalry of probably any sport ever. The 2 greatest to ever do it without a shadow of a doubt.
