I only knew about paying for lessons/test, or working full time for 12 months (for gov buses) before eligible to get on the list to upgrade. Also, do you know what’s involved to reinstate “carry passengers” component of the licence ? There’d be a medical, I can’t remember what else?

I guess the first consideration is that you are both OK. Says a lot for having a decent vehicle like a landcruiser and when this happens, it is money well spent when you need to protect your life. I have owned landcruisers and caravans and tend to insure with the likes of RACV being in Victoria at that time as they also have extra cover options for emergency assistance and accommodation as well. At least they will get you back to a main city and out of remote places. Keep travelling and safe journeys in the future. Russell M.

As the placard on the dash showed, the KW has a 15 speed gearbox. 15 speeds, but if you run through them all sequentially, only 12 are available. The bottom 5 are deep reduction and only used for lifting off when loaded very heavily. Here's how they work if you want to run through them all. First gear, both buttons in the down position. - Some trucks have the deep reduction mode as a sideways switch on the dashboard. They all do the same job. - Work your way up through the gears. When you get to 5th gear lift the LOWER button to the UP position and go back a gear. You will now be in 4th gear in the normal 10 speed mode and you work your way through the gears as normal. If the deep reduction mode is connected in that truck - which it may not be - and you only wish to use the top 10 gears, the lower button must be run in the UP position. If, by chance you ever come across an overdrive road ranger box, 4th and 5th positions are reversed on the stick. It's not as hard as it may sound, you just have to get it in your head. PS: That "8 speed" you mentioned is actually a 9 speed. The "low" position which is left and back is actually a bog gear which is not used as a rule, but there if needed. The 9 speed gear pattern is the same as the 13 speed and 18 speed road ranger boxes. I hope this helps.
@Noelzsazsa8 күн бұрын
I think I know exactly what gearbox we had a Louisville similar era with a 903 in it and 15 there were some gear's that were just bog cogs it was running low ratio diffs I believe that was the combination with the box the 903 was only really about 250 HP

Sorry to hear about your crash. One thing that more people could be doing but don't, is have 2 or more vehicles. There are a lot of good utes from about 2015 to 2020 with medium Ks for around 20k. Spend 30k + and you can get your 4x4 dual cab main car. Nothing wrong with a 2016 single cab with 2wd with a tow bar, break controler and 1k kings roof top tent parked on a safe street in north shore if things go wrong. Could be around 60k easy for both or much less. Even a 2010 dmax or colorado with the 3.0l as a spare. People always want the 80k + Rangers or Landcruisers when for 80k you could do 3 vehicles or 2 for 60k. Another lifesaver are box trailers. Have one parked on the street with a cage and big tool box. Cost around 5k. Enclose the top with a cage section. Great for storage.

Very odd to see headers stopping to unload. There are many grades of wheat from APH (Australian Prime Hard) right through the FED (Feed). Depending on the year feed wheat can be as expensive as APH, but that is all yield and crop size dependent. Feed wheat would be used in cattle, pig and chicken feeding operations, again price dependent in comparison to other grains which can then be location dependent, sorghum for example in northern NSW and Qld. There is always a compromise feeding shot and sprung grain, by producing a shoot the seed is using some of the intrinsic energy that could otherwise be available to the animal being fed.
@markandshirley10 күн бұрын

The only thing I’m going to do straight away.
