Thanks I just needed knowledge about shaft removal. I have a tricycle adult with a front hub motor. I converted first a 1000 watt. Kept blowing off the forks but fixed now it works pretty well. Now put on 1200 and thinking dual rear hub motors my trike has a solid axle. I am thinking about pressing them onto my axle. This shows possibility was that axle staggered and middle larger ? It looked like that. I don't know about this but ... Thanx for the post.

I had the exact same problem, and I hoped you had a fix. Mine was 8 months after purchase. The nearest repair depot is far away, so I decided to send it to them for repair. I set up the repair ticket on line. They gave me a UPS shipping label. I removed the bar and sent body, bar, and chain separated so it would fit in a box. Days later I got an email that said a part they needed was on back order, and it would take at most a week to get it. As I write this, it sits next to me. The whole episode took 1-2 weeks, and it was completely free, shipping free too. I don’t know what they did. Here’s what the packing paper says: “Service performed. Ground wire continuity. High pot 1000. High pot 2500. Leakage current check. Product tested.” When I removed it from the box (a box that a new saw comes it), I saw that it was spotless and looked brand new. I checked the serial number; it’s different. I won’t be able to test it until next week as I’m leaving on a trip immediately. I wish I knew exactly what they did, but that would require more digging, probably with fruitless phone calls. If it fails again? I’ll send it back or repair. It’s free under warranty, so what the hell. I’m not tossing a $250 investment unless I have no choice.

Where are the wheel bearings? At 0:49 it looks like the wheel bearings are part of the motor's plate cover? Is that so? How do you get at those in order to clean and regrease them?

What are you thinking dude? Leaving the winding even nicked, can reduce the flow of current! All windings have a varying amount of insulation. Yeah, it's thin, but it's there. You can't assume to suck current through one wire into the adjacent wire. One strand will screw up the whole magnetic field. I would considder rewinding it with a slightly thicker, well insolated(dark purple/red). This will most likely increase your lost torque, and then some. Ask someone with hands on experience.

Mine has had lots of hours on them, in a short period of about a month each, so I've used it a lot, and was super stoked with it. Pretty much had it with the trips to HD for this product.

Does just buying a new motor mean that you just buy a whole new tire?
@TheHowtoDad3 ай бұрын
NO! this is a great question. you only need to by the motor portion. no spokes, no rim, no tire, JUST the motor. then take the new motor internals out, and swap them in to the old motor that is attached to your spokes and rim. it's much easier

Hi, your video was very informative and I followed it to build my bar with glass blocks/tiles. But I am not sure how to securely place a glass countertop on top of the glass bar I built. I see lots of photos in various sites of glass or granite countertops on glass block structures. If you have any solutions on this issue please send me a note, thanks.
@TheHowtoDad3 ай бұрын
this isn't really my area of expertise. but, if I were going to do this I would apply a generous layer of silicone calk to secure the countertop to the glass blocks. I can't really think of a good way to mechanically fasten to the blocks, after the mortar has cured. placing brackets in the mortar ahead of time would have been a good plan, but I assume you're past that

I contacted the manufacturer directly. It was not easy to convince them to sell me the parts, and the parts were not that much cheaper than just buying a whole new motor. I'd suggest buying a new motor and just swapping the internals. it is MUCH easier, and doesn't cost that much more.

Mine worked whenever I needed it (about 2-3 hours per year) for about 4 years. Then last week it quit after 2 minutes of working fine. Press the trigger, it moves forward a link and stops. Does that a couple times, then backs up 1/4 inch a couple of times, then nothing. Battery is fine. Pretty disgusting excuse for a tool.
