Why is it that all the tests involved moving backwards?
@maxgonzales59728 ай бұрын
Because there are certain actions you need to walk backwards

My grandpa unfortunately died from a cardiac arrest on august 21, 2023. I did CPR on him and waited for wake county EMS to arrive. They tried they’re absolute hardest and were compassionate the entire time, I said thank you to the firemen and paramedics who took the call. I’ve wanted to be part of wake county EMS and never thought my first code would be a loved one but it motivated me more to work for this and get out on the field. I just want to say thank you to wake county EMS and all first responders out there, you mean a lot to me.

I never understood the lone stretcher movement. You should never be moving a cot loaded with equipment by yourself. If you are then the agency can’t be surprised when you trip and fall, let go of the cot and it goes rolling down the driveway and into a ditch. A loaded cot should be moved by a minimum of 2 personnel

Usually a genetic symptomless electrical heart problem or a structural problem with the heart. No one knows if they have it until an EKG picks it up or the person dies.

wow I know a lot of those people lol. I was an EMT in 1977. I remember "Raleigh RESCOM" and the Green and White trucks. I never worked for Wake EMS I was asked once if I wanted to apply. I was attending the Fire Science Program at Wilson County Tech and really wanted to work for a paid FD. Since I was not a minority or a vet my chances were not there. So I remained a Volunteer and in Duplin County and then in Lenoir County. I worked part time with Duplin County EMS when the county ran an ambulance service. I was an EMT then and EMT-D got out for awhile and went back as a Medial Responder after 30 years it was time to go home. It was good to see some of those people in the video. I can say in knew and trained with some of them.

Sunstar in Florida needs to use this. The recruiter even told me before I went to take it that he is having a hard time getting people to pass their test due to high heart rate. Their test is nothing to do with ems and you do a three minute stair step and lift weights, which is supposed to simulate a patient and stretcher. I could do this test with my eyes closed. Sunstars testing isn't even done in house and was done by a physical therapist in a therapy room.

This is NOT now following best practice as advised by CDC 20 October 2014, namely that hand hygiene is undertaken before and after EVERY step of equipment removal (about 8 or 9 times in all) - see www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/hcp/procedures-for-ppe.html for the check list, and www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/hcp/ppe-training/index.html for selection of training video based on the equipment used.
@jeffreyhammerstein247510 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback bi1iruben, and we completely agree on the hand hygiene. That's why it was important to make clear at the beginning of the video that this is not a step by step procedure training video, but rather an overview of some of the steps. Also at the beginning of the video is the link to our actual procedure from our website. Thanks, also, for including the additional resource links above. We've all got to work on best practices together.
