I have to buy a replacement to the one that came with the sistem, it was bought on line from some company in England. Thanks for the chat Roger 👍😊. I had beautiful ☀️ day today and I notice ( 🌱feeding & watering day for my orchids ) some plant are coming back into growth.....very pleased to see that . I repotted my big Cattleya in November when new roots were starting showing up ... longer ☀️ days are always welcomed 😁.

Jackfowleara Appleblossums are one of my favourite Catts. I’ve struggled with small seedlings so have bought larger seedlings which are still alive. If my orchids climb & there are aerial roots above the media, I just cover them with bark mix until repotting time. It seems to help keep them hydrated & used to being in media.

Hi Roger, You will be pleased to be informed. I did a search on the orchid roots web site for both Prosthechea radiata and Anacheilium radiatum and the accepted species name is Prosthechea radiata. Anacheilium radiatum is now a synonym (where it belongs). Finally common sense has prevailed

I'd cry if I lost my cattleyas (I feel your pain) as the sheer beauty and wonderful scents really make them special. Still on the lookout for Appleblossom in my neck of the woods, no luck in 3+ years. Sigh.

Wow, you do have hard water! My area hovers between 140-165 TDS. In winter I cut it with distilled water from the grocery store (4 litres for 99¢), the rest of the year I use rainwater. Thanks for the video, I was not sure if it would be worth my while/time/limited space to purchase an RO Unit. Now I know!

Did I miss your assessment of your new rake, and how it performed for you?

When you live alone the cost of running the unit isn't that bad, my water bill is 12 euro per three months. It still filters the same as when I got it ppm is always 7 never changed the filter. I fill a 65 liter dustbin in 10 hours so I will look into a new flow regulator (didn't know you could do that)

Nice garden Roger. I’m Robert in Atlanta Georgia, and have a wonderful garden as well. I decided to leave my bushes or hedges taller this year so that the birds can use them. They also block the windows from the people next-door. Very nice private garden you have 🌱🏡🌱😎🐈👍 I left a nomination to you about eight weeks ago, and have 13 phals…. I use one just like it. Great success using it on my vanda types and phrags (which it is used only on these for flushing). Haven't noticed any major improvements for my cattleya types and paphs.

This is a great idea for a video! I’ve considered buying a reverse osmosis unit but I’m not sure if it would save much money. I can get filtered water for $.50/gallon and I mix it at a ratio of about 3 to 2 with our tap water that is 220 ppm. I only have 38 small to medium orchids so I don’t use a lot of water. Someday, I’ll get motivated to do the math and decide what to do. 😆

I used to have very expensive 5 stage RO water unit ( i needed it because i kept and bred wild betta fish). My water bill was HUGE!! Now i use tap water for my orchids ( my water is pretty hard at around 280 ppm) with good fertiliser and my tropical plants and orchids are happy
