I have 2 lasko clip fans... One of them I keep in the kitchen because I use it when the dishwasher is done...I clip it to the counter upside down to blow in the dishwasher to dry the dishes because it works much better than the dry cycle....My question is... when it's in the upside down position, that's when it rattles...if it's upright, it doesn't.... It's whisper quiet if it's upright... is that normal for it to be noisy orientated that way? thanks
@mtbboy19933 ай бұрын
Sometimes the fan has just dislocated, if so carefully pull the fan out. Other issues, inspect fan for cracks. Also cheap fans can have ball bearings, those eventually will make noise. You have magnetic bearing, they will be quiet usually until they misalign. But maybe lubing those helps, but impossible to tell if you lubing it or you you moving the fans fixed it. Just flipping the fans upside down might fix it. But maybe lube will reduce noise anyway.

Microphone pop at the start of the vid: You might already know this. Tip use a pop filter or move mic to the side or above your mouth, if it's in the way, turn up the gain, if you can't download EqualizerAPO and boost the mic from there. I had to as mine was too quiet.

Late to the party, but thanks for this video. My project is a little different to yours, im adding an extra jointed section to mine so i have more length as well as greater articulation, but finding spares for these kinds of arms is a massive ballache because there doesn't seem to be a single unified name for these kinds of springboom arms. Really glad to see it's as simple as "it just comes apart at the elbow".

@@KNTech I installed x3 new cooler master sickleflow 120 fans, it turns out with these “sealed bearing” fans there’s no way to apply a small amount of lubrication from The back under the sticker. But you can (with some force) push the fan blade out of the housing, and you can apply an amount to the inside from there. By the time I realised this I had already installed the new ones haha. Cheers mate

@@KNTech aye hold up brother because before I threw them in the bin, I decided to forcefully remove the fan blade. If you can’t access from the back via sticker removal, you can pull the fan blade completely out of the housing, exposing the internals. I applied a small amount of lubricant to the drive train, pushed the fan blade back in and vola. Kept them as spares.

While this does seem like good advice, it isn't because he doesn't tell you what you should do after flushing it out with WD-40. Regular WD-40 is not a lubricant despite appearing like one when it's first applied. WD-40 is meant for displacing water and flushing debris/dust out of things. It isn't meant to stay in as a lubricant for something spinning at such high RPMs as a fan. Flushing with WD-40 also flushes out most of the machine-grade oil applied at the factory. WD-40 by itself will, rather quickly in comparison to oil, take on a more resin-like consistency, which will have that rattle coming back with the added benefit of putting more stress on your fans by making them work harder to spin. You're supposed to follow up a WD-40 flushing with actual machine-grade oil based on your needs. For PC fans, just a light machine-grade oil is enough to keep them spinning for years. Well, outside of any needs to flush them out again. There are also WD-40 brand lubricants that you can buy that are different from just regular WD-40.

Hello, I am thinking of using a linmon desk for a 21:9 34'' LG ultrawide monitor, the monitor weighs a little less than 8kg (7.82kg), I am going to use a similar support but only with one arm, I will use one of The ones that support up to 15kg, I don't know if yours is the same, my question is, do you think it will hold the desk without problems? Or yes or yes, do you recommend me to improve this mod to the desktop? If I have to make the mod, is there any specification on what type of iron to use? And the measurement of the wooden strip and thickness? greetings ^^

Hi, great video and really informative. I’m unsure if you still respond to queries but could I just reinforce the bottom of the clamp? I’m unable to reinforce the top as my monitor arm is through the grommet hole
@KNTech Жыл бұрын
Hi there, I do still respond. unfortunately the top is where the most comm fail point is. you would need to remove the clamp, place a piece of metal with a hole in it the same size or bigger that the piece that goes though the desk and re attach the monitor arm. that way you would be certain it will hold up

@@conker8800 Hay buddy. It could be that you have damaged the third wire (not the red or black one) as this is the one that tells the device the charge level and regulates the charging, either way it looks like the headset may not be very usable, so you may as well have a go at seeing if you can sort it, its not like you are going to break it more. let me know how you get on.

I had a rattle in my fans, I turned the off one by one, but it wouldn't stop. I finally figured out that I need the outflow fans (only two) to be at a higher RPM that the intake fans (there are three). Once I slightly increased the RPMs the noise stopped.
@KNTech Жыл бұрын
Glad you got it sorted, The usual way to set fan speeds (assuming you have the same number of intake as exhaust/outflow) is to have the intake slightly higher RPM than the exhaust, that way you has a slight positive pressure in the case which makes it harder for dust to get in when it running.
