PC Upgrade: AMD 3900x build and test

Cool video and what looks like a massive performance improvement!! I heard a couple of funny noises in the background and noticed on one of the shots that it looks like you have a Vector robot! Can we see him! Can you do a video on the little guy? They are so cool, even more so as you can’t get hold of them anymore!!! Looking forward to the next video on this series. Can’t wait to see the final build!! Keep up the good work!!

Hey Gary, thanks for the comment, yes I do have a Vector, I have been trying to keep him out the way during my videos, but maybe I will let him help out in his own special way. thanks for being a regular viewer

What is the purpose of flashing bios to latest version? I've never done this with my PC before, and heard horror stories of people bricking their system after doing this.

Hi there. this is something that I always do prior to building a new rig. yes you can have issues if you have a stable rig and then flash the bios, basically if it works best to leave it alone unless you want a new feature which an update brings, or if it fixes an issue you have. I flashed mine to latest just to ensure that all the latest features were available for my 3900x. Thanks for the comment, don't forget to Sub for new video notifications

@@KNTech Just came across your video, great video, but in my opinion, there really wasn't any point in flashing your bios because it was already upto date with the latest bios, all you did was just reflash the same bios, although nothing would go wrong, it really was no point in it, since they where both released on the same date 01/16/2020, with the same bios name. but overall great video.

ProNetC2 Hi there, thanks for the comment, what you guys didn’t see was me flashing the bios before I installed the CPU, so yes it did look like I was simply flashing with the same bios. I added that part of the video simply to show that I usually flash the bios before a new build, but only ever the latest stable version, never a beta version. Glad you liked the video.

why use a test bench, why not just test it on the motherboard box and then just put it in a case

Hey Kevin, Firstly I had jus finished building the test bench from scratch, so wanted to make sure everything fitted ok, and secondly. I wanted it up and running for longer so i could transfer all my apps and docs. Thanks for the comment
