I expected this solution to look very jank, but it's alright to be honest. For me personally a solution like this is very backwards so naturally I'm against it, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do to make something work. Some brands simply don't offer center lock discs(Hayes, it's 2025 already. Wake up...)

Must be a regular sealant because you can inject it through the valve stem. So how do you use a regular sealant in high pressure road tires?? I think most regular sealants have a working pressure that is much lower for MTB tires (10-20psi) than what you run in a road tire. The working pressure is such that its not too high and spraying sealant out before it can coagulate and not too low that is simply oozes. I am having this exact problem with my gravel bike. Small punctures that don't seal very well because the tire pressure (35-45psi) is too high for the sealant to work very well. My thinking is that I have to give up the supple life and run highly durable casings that won't puncture. A tire that won't puncture in the first place may be the best solution. Thoughts?
@Prakticala
@Prakticala 10 ай бұрын
I deflate the tire before injecting the sealant so spraying out isn't a problem. Haven't had any issues with punctures not coagulating but I think of course having puncture resistant tires in the first place helps. The ones in this video (Pirelli Cinturato) are really tough!

Just a simple comment: Those 6 screws are very small and the recommended torque is about 6 NM. I bought this kit and 2 screw heads broke off. I had to buy another kit just to get those particular screws. Be careful if you use a torx socket that mounts to a torque wrench. If you do not place the torx bit directly (straight) into the head of the screw you risk snapping off the head of the screw. Once I bought the new (2nd) kit I used a torx type “screwdriver” like shown in the video. I could place it directly on the bolt head firmly and it worked perfectly. Of course, I couldn’t guarantee that I torqued it to 6 NM - but it seems to work fine.

@dirtyforksmtb

Because centerlock are a pain to find and it seems that you can only get specific variations of a rotor type in centerlock. 6 bolt rotors are in more abundance at least here in Canada. Also they are easier to work on trail side.

Do these Ritchie cable disconnectors add any slack to cable pull or any added compression at all? Thanks!
@Prakticala

No, once they're set up they act just like a single cable. The cable clamp doesn't move, and the other end has a cable stop, and the two pieces are threaded together, so there is nothing to compress!

Thank you for your videos, helped me a great deal while building my bike! :) One question in case you see see it: I have the same type of expander plug bug it doesnt really want to get in steerer tube. I force in down a few inches but then it's stuck. Are you supposed to apply a lot of force to get it in? Thank you! <3
@Prakticala
@Prakticala 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. No, do not apply a lot of force! You need to loosen the expander first, drop it in, and then tighten, before installing your stem, top cap, etc. If it's stuck, you have to find the right size hex key that will go into the center of the plug and loosen it first. Hope that helps!
