I’m not a horserider and I don’t mean this to be provocative - but what’s so difficult about riding a galloping horse? I mean, if his feet was in the stirrups and he was holding the reins why not just ride the horse?

I can't see what actually made you fall off. Did he shy or something? It seemed to happen all of a sudden for no reason.

I had the same problem a couple of times in my life. The worst situation was: Me on an ex-racehorse, alone, no helmet, without a saddle, running highspeed, having no control whatsoever. - The better you become in this sport during your lifetime, the less risks you take. Even though I know, I can handle such situations much better than I did back in those times, I would NEVER ride out that careless again!

I live in Australia, we are surrounded by native animals that given the slightest chance will happily end your life. But the animal that kills more ppl every year in Australia is…yep the horse! Google it if you don’t believe me.

You don't have any business riding this horse in an open field. He needs basic groundwork first. And trying to get control by doing the opposite and actually encouraging him to run will result in him running much faster, probably getting you killed. I got my first ottb at 12, she was a 17 h. 4yr. Old TB, I learned the hard way, but it was worth it. She was a good, kind, wonderful horse who just didn't know what I was asking her to do. Funny thing, she was really good at getting around the barrels used in barrel racing, considering what a big, tall horse she was!

Now seriously let analyse this situation. You are happy to ride a horse that has been beaten whipped to noting in its entire life but gallop in a circle. How am I going so far. The when it get onto a track, you will note you are riding on a track, all its training and whipping and beating cut in and it gallops. …And the human is surprised. Gotcha.
@marymartin87634 ай бұрын
Well you obviously have never been around racehorses, just because it’s a trail doesn’t mean a horse will think it’s a track, they aren’t dumb. Here’s the problem, racehorses are trained to go into pressure, the guy was keeping pressure on the bit instead of relaxing the reins, the horse wasn’t retrained properly and the horse was doing exactly what it was trained to do.
