I’m growing my hair out and feel the best way for growth is to wash, deep condition, braid and wear a wig. I am definitely investing into a kinky clueless wig

I’m sooo tired of the assimilation. This feeds corporate America. Self hate is a trillion dollar industry. And it’s so damaging to the psyche. I couldn’t image really feeling like I can’t be beautiful without a wig, weave or straight hair or anything that is not of me and my natural state.

And this is why I'll never wear straight hair wigs/weaves again, and haven't for a long time. Why waste time taking care of somebody else's hair on a wig or weave I bought when I could take care of my own? Not to mention, when I'm not wearing my natural hair/afro out, I'm wearing braids. Braids are far more versatile than any Type 1 eurocentric hair or hairstyle I could put on my head, and it dates back thousands of year. Even ancient Egyptians wore hair pieces that mimicked their Type 4 hair, so if I ever get another wig/weave, that's what mine will look like. ✊🏽👩🏾‍🦱🤎🪮

Whenever I get my hair braided by the “Africans,” it Hurts me when they tell me using Marley textured hair as braiding hair “Will not look.” For them it should, and it must be straightened synthetic hair smh. I persuade them to use what I (the customer) requested, and loving the results. When I use braiding that mimics my texture the hair styles ages better rather than getting more “obvious” lol

Well what’s your hair texture?. Are you expecting your hair texture to do something it’s not meant to do? Have you tried a styling gel like eco styler or tgin styling gel? How do you wear your hair at night? I suggest the banding method with a bonnet I have a short explaining the banding method just scroll down to see it. Also try tgin daily moisturizer it’s really good I would explore the possibility of figuring out your hair texture. Finding women who have your hair texture online, follow them and adjusting your expectations to your hair texture. Yes they are out there Also less is more when it comes to natural hair

It’s like 3c, I do wear a bonnet but it never keeps my curls it just shrivels up. I’ve looked at videos but my hair never does the same thing, maybe not as frizzy but definitely an undefined mess.

Thank you so much and you have any more tips? cause when I do my hair I use curl lotion, cream and gel. My hair doesn’t get wet or moisturized very quickly so lot of products don’t work unless I put a lot in or wet it. Also I really hate that my hair is never soft after doing it and I think that’s what making it undefined?

@ try using rose water instead of regular water and use a leave in that’s cream based Example Rose water : TGIN or diy Leave in: TGIN, essential design, as I am, melanin, Pre poo/ detangler for moisturizing: DIY flaxseed gel

Ive been wearing my natural hair since 2016 after all my hair fell out from a relaxer. I can’t lie even though I love my natural hair and wear it out 90% of the time I can’t help but wonder if I’d look better with a wig or weave. I’m able to push past those thoughts but I understand the struggle of acceptance.

If you want your hair to come down, rather than out, locs are an excellent option!!! Also, be so so careful buying human hair extensions because they are often part of a sacrifice to Hindu gods and if you are a Christian or Muslim that is a no no and should not be put on your head. I believe spirts are attached to human hair. Also, pick up your bible and start praying blessings and healing over your life to truly fall in love with yourself. Make and keep covenants with the Lord and he will strengthen you for his glory❤

Wigs were only worn every now and then; for special times- at one point, but social media aesthetics influenced wigs to became an everyday-wear style,when their not meant to be. Wigs were designed to be something to put on, and take off, it’s NOT ACTUALLY having your hair DONE.
@ChristasiaCunningham
@ChristasiaCunningham 10 күн бұрын
I think no one wants to be belittled or put in a position to be viewed as less than. Some people initially had high admiration for their hair, but seeing how the aesthetic trends forced the natural era out of the spotlight, people rebranded their images to keep up with the new way of the world. It eventually went from “keeping up with the new”, to a normalized way of life, due to it being done so regularly. Women and men developed an infatuation with the aesthetic version of a woman and the status that came with it.everyone just slowly forgot about natural hair,which caused wearing it- to became so rare that stereotypes were associated with it- attributes such as childishness and destitution. Now we are trapped in a era of being afraid to step outside of the worlds new order in the black community, due to having a “lowest in the barrel” social identity .

Love your videos! Would love to hear your take on the Amish biracial woman going viral for saying black women should embrace their natural hair. Lots of people are dragging them for speaking on black women’s hair as non monoracial black women but IMO from what I saw the message wasn’t even bad. They were praising black hair.
