I realize that videos dealing with universities try to include students of various ethnic/racial backgrounds because of this diversity garbage which is constantly being shoved down our throats; however, let's not OVERDO it. For a minute there I thought that St John's university was a historically black university! There are STILL some Caucasian people living in the United States of America and last I checked they are STILL the majority. Based on what I saw in this video I would have thought that the Caucasians have become a racial minority in the USA! Next time you make a video of this kind please make sure that the ethnic/racial distribution of the students you select reflects the ethnic/racial distribution of the US population more accurately. I know you are trying to promote St John's University as a diverse university, but this is verging on the ridiculous. Incidentally, I don't understand what all this hype about this diversity garbage is all about? What is this craze about diversity when students of each racial group associate almost exclusively with members of their own race? When was the last time any of us walked into the cafeteria, dining room, or student union of a major university and saw tables occupied by students belonging to different racial groups?

I am a disabled student who was forced to take two years off from Columbia after being harassed by another student. The administration, which is indeed reprehensible, protected my harasser, because his father was a graduate of the school. After a lengthly legal battle with Columbia's henchmen, I begrudgingly returned two years later and managed to graduate Magna Cum Laude. I am particularly ashamed of Dean Peter Awn, an abominable administrator, who threatened disciplinary action should I pursue my legitimate complaint and attempts to remedy through proper channels. Awn passed from a hit and run accident a few years ago. Karma. Equally shameful is Marsha Wagner from the Ombuds Office. Wagner failed to resolve conflict, promote civility or mutual respect. Her unethical behavior and purposeful bias is as breathtaking as it is chilling. Perhaps most disingenuous was Columbia's theatrical farce in "mediating". The school hired an ostensible third party arbitrator, who in reality was an attorney hired to shroud my harasser with legal protection. The school was unconcerned with the fact my harasser maintained a low GPA, whereas I had a 4.0. Nor did Columbia regard the fact he cheated on tests (yes the writing on your hands was obvious) and plagiarized assignments. Moreover, the university was indifferent to the fact he was a known tormentor, who pestered another student to the point where her distress compelled her to move out of her dorm room. Fast forward twelve years after graduating from this "prestigious" Ivy League school and the tortuous experience still haunts. Not only was Columbia the worst experience of my life, the "prestigious" degree did nothing for my career. My "education" was a complete waste of time, money and effort, albeit I had a front row seat to academic corruption and superficial ethics. I am angered Columbia willfully attempted to harass and silence me. I am outraged Columbia purposely engendered an atmosphere of intolerance not conducive to education. And I am infuriated Columbia intentionally coddled and protected a delinquent student who, by the school's own metrics, should have been arrested and expelled. Accordingly I will continue to speak out against Columbia, a poor excuse of an institution of so called higher learning.

It is surprising that several students complain of a lack of diversity. The students interviewed seem rather diverse. Perhaps it was an unusually diverse sample?

Shallow students...they are suppose to draw on the wisdom of their elders and apply the knowledge using their way of thinking instead of complaining "lack of diversity" woah woah woah. To that young lady in white jacket @ 2:58, as a graduate of this school as a Redman, philosophy will serve her well. It did for me even now. I graduated from this school some time ago and diversity is NOT what's lacking.

That’s her experience. You can disagree without invalidating her experience. And lack of diversity is an experience and can make that experience different. Stop being so judgmental. You must have never felt that in your life so you wouldn’t understand from their point of view. That’s cool. Don’t be a judgmental A-hole.

I like lots of people it's warmer and less intense on the social life because if you screw up there's always more people over there verses a smaller school where there wouldn't be more people there to fill up any blank spots . Small schools suck that way.

Hi, Thanks a lot for the video. Being admitted to NYU is a dream come true for me. I am an admitted post graduate student of Silver School. With scholarship worth $10,500. That is $21,000 for the 2yrs. Attending my dream graduate school is proving an uphill challenge for me...as an international student from sub-Saharan Africa It's being a real struggle trying to complete the remaining balance of my tuition. Due to this financial constraints, I had the offer differed for a year, that is I was supposed to start fall 2022 but had to differ till fall 2023. I recently realized this is completely beyond me and my family. Please, I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in regards to more scholarships, persons I can contact. It's really scary seeing fall 2023 draw near. Any suggestion will really be appreciated.

What a bunch of weak sauce people. UMD is an amazing school. Student complaining about cost?:) Try the private schools in DC, 3 times the tuition. Its public Ivy school. In engineering school, it is ranked really high, most profs graduated from MIT, what more do you want for the minor price you pay? Only negative in College Park is the crime at night. But, what university is doing a city wide improvement like College Park? The school has a University of Maryland College Park Hotel right across from campus, which school has that? Again, weak sauce students.
