I reckon there's probably some cool sounding Aboriginal name you could find for the island. I mean hsv went with Maloo for their utes which means thunder 💁 Also as far as getting back into Thomas and friends. Check out the unlucky tug if you want to get back into the lore haha

Just to note with 17:51, you could possibly make a train station like Wondabyne or some of the tiny Hunter Line stations along the river/rural area. Might not necessarily be very 1960’s, but could be a solution to keep the area quiet and wild

If you want some fitting inspiration for this project I’d point you to the murchison dlc from trainz 2009(?) I think. Google will show you screenshots, etc. It’s a similar type of Australian map modeling the 50s/60s steam and diesel operations on an island like this

Deyras Island. Totally random name but sounds unique and could easily be Aussie. It’s cozy but a bit grand

i always considered cities skylines to be like a model train set, im glad im not the only one who feels that way lol, transport fever 2 fills the better gap for now, but cities has the aesthetics way over that game in the sense that youre building your own world like a model

Darling harbour is just garbage now after they let big business destroy all that made it so special such as the amazing Darling Harbour complex. I used to work right near there in the 90’s and caught the monorail every day to see business around the city. This was at the time of Sega World which I went to on weekends often with a free pass. Unfortunately those amazing times are now just part of history as so called progress has raised the lot and turned it into a soulless business park. The only good thing left is the gardens.

The Thomas the Tank Engine show was great back in the day but the new ones are just a joke as they are terrible and very unrealistic and has no heart and soul in it like the originals. I would love to see an area with the Thomas trains in it would be cool

You should add Thomas the Tank Engine in as I believe there is a mod for it

i think naming it something along the lines of Willowbee Island, and you can keep the much older look while keeping it between 1919 and 1969, and tell a story around the "outdated" look and vehicles

I've got a game to recommend created by a solo developer from our neighbors in New Zealand, it's called Rolling Line and is only about $20? It's a rather small model railway sim game with a very simplistic art style but it's really fun, you can create a multitude of layouts and it has a very large community of modders on the Steam Workshop including some who are dedicated to making Aussie steam and diesel engines too. Really worth a shot imo

It feels like it has been a few months to a year since I last watched a video of yours and it didn't really occur to me that this video is meant to be the start of a new series primarily focused on steam locomotives which I absolutely love as someone who's a steam locomotive fanatic and grew up watching Thomas the Tank Engine. And the way you're going about this map is reminding me of the Island of Sodor where the primary mode of transportation is steam locomotives. I'm really looking forward to what this series has in store!

Don't feel too embarrased, R.W. Audry wrote the stories specifically to be enjoyable for both the kids and the parents that would be reading the books to them. As a result the book series and the origional model series can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Some other spectacular and distinct landforms near Sydney include the sandstone escarpments you see in the Blue Mountains or down the Illawarra, with the cliffs lining the upper parts of the ridges, or the canyons of the upper Nepean River where the Hume Fwy crosses near Picton. Steep walls on the upper part of either slope. Beautiful bushland there as well.

i feel you there, model railways take up a massive amount of space. part of me has an idea of a lateout but i am going to have to drop the scale down to sort of n scale but with custom trains as i want to adapt a minor bit of warhammer lore into a circular railway that goes through a square table that is divided into 3 or 4 public facing sections that include painted relief dividing walls that show different areas that a cover different areas that heavy mass convayance rail covers initial thinking: warhammer fans i am refering to vraks 1: space port 2: wastes 3: rearlines but i am not sure if i could make it happen let a long get it to a model railway expo or wargaming event
